The Manager of Corporate Accounting is responsible for a broad range of accounting and reporting responsibilities at the consolidated entity level. The position requires strong analytical, technical accounting research, and communication skills, along with the desire to lead various initiatives, make a positive impact and grow within the organization. Candidates with public accounting (big four accounting or similar) experience are highly desired.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for preparation, analysis, and review of components of the consolidated general ledger.
  • Research of new FASB pronouncements and proper GAAP treatment of significant transactions affecting consolidated financial statements.
  • Maintain and strengthen accounting policies, procedures and internal controls.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, systems and reporting efficiency.
  • Responsible for preparing internal and external reporting, including support of year-end audit.
  • Responsible for reviewing the accounting for corporate owned fixed assets and leases, debt, goodwill, and investments.
  • Assist with corporate income tax compliance and calculation of the consolidated income tax provision and deferred tax assets/liabilities.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned.

Required Credentials:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance
  • 3-5 years of experience performing similar responsibilities, Public Accounting experience highly desired.
  • Knowledge of GAAP and tax reporting.
  • Solid technical skills including Microsoft Office, NetSuite a plus.
  • Experience identifying and implementing AI-enabled solutions to improve accounting workflows, automate repetitive tasks, enhance reporting, and increase team productivity. 
  • CPA required, Financial Services background a plus.
  • Prior analytical and research experience.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

In accordance with the Illinois Pay Transparency Law, the anticipated hiring base salary for the role will be between $120,000 and $160,000 per year. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, also provides the opportunity for a performance based bonus and the Mesirow benefit program.
