Impact You'll Make

  • Lead the execution of complex restructuring and insolvency engagements, helping clients stabilize operations and position for long-term success.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to management teams, lenders, legal counsel, and other key stakeholders throughout restructuring processes.

  • Deliver high-quality financial analyses and technical accounting solutions related to bankruptcy, Fresh-Start accounting, and corporate reorganizations.

  • Develop and mentor team members while fostering a collaborative, high-performance environment.

  • Support practice growth through business development, relationship management, and delivery of exceptional client service.

What You'll Do

  • Lead engagement workstreams across a variety of restructuring, insolvency, and turnaround engagements involving both middle-market and large multinational organizations.

  • Serve as the primary day-to-day client contact, building and maintaining strong relationships with management teams, lenders, creditors, legal counsel, and other stakeholders.

  • Direct the preparation and review of 13-week cash flow forecasts, liquidity analyses, distressed-company financial models, and other restructuring-related analyses.

  • Lead Fresh-Start accounting (ASC 852) engagements, including planning, implementation, valuation coordination, systems readiness, and post-emergence validation.

  • Participate in and support negotiations with lenders, secured creditors, and other stakeholders related to debt restructurings and claims resolution.

  • Review technical accounting research, financial analyses, client deliverables, and court-related documentation to ensure accuracy and quality.

  • Oversee the preparation of written reports, presentations, and other client-facing materials that communicate findings and recommendations effectively.

  • Mentor, coach, and develop Analysts and Senior Consultants through formal and informal training, performance feedback, and career development support.

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships and support business development initiatives.

  • Represent Stout in client meetings, working sessions, creditor discussions, and court-related proceedings, as applicable.

  • Contribute to practice development initiatives, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement efforts across the Corporate Recovery Services team.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.

  • CPA or CA designation required.

  • 4–8 years of relevant experience in restructuring advisory, accounting advisory, financial audit, turnaround consulting, or related professional services environments.

  • Demonstrated experience leading engagement workstreams and supervising junior professionals.

  • Strong knowledge of bankruptcy and restructuring concepts, including U.S. bankruptcy proceedings, Plan of Reorganization accounting, and distressed-company financial analysis.

  • Experience with Fresh-Start accounting (ASC 852), purchase accounting (ASC 805), or related technical accounting matters preferred.

  • Advanced financial modeling skills, including cash flow forecasting, liquidity analysis, and 13-week cash flow modeling.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with strong working knowledge of PowerPoint and Word.

  • Experience advising distressed companies, lenders, creditors, or other stakeholders through Chapter 11 or out-of-court restructurings preferred.

  • Professional certifications such as CTP (Certified Turnaround Professional) or CIRA (Certified Insolvency & Restructuring Advisor) are a plus.

  • Experience with data analytics tools such as SQL, Alteryx, Power BI, or similar technologies is preferred.

  • Ability to travel up to 10%, depending on client and engagement requirements.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
