Job summary

As a Marketing Manager at Transportation One, you’ll help generate new business opportunities through targeted email campaigns, social content, prospect research, trade shows, and lead generation.

This role is ideal for someone who is creative, commercially minded, and comfortable owning projects from idea through execution. You’ll work closely with our Business Development team to identify the right prospects, create meaningful engagement, and turn marketing activity into qualified meetings and pipeline.

Experience in logistics is a plus, but a strong understanding of B2B marketing is what matters most.

 

Duties and responsibilities

  • Build, execute, and optimize email marketing campaigns to generate and nurture qualified prospects
  • Manage Transportation One's LinkedIn presence and create relevant content around company news, freight market trends, and industry insights
  • Develop customer-facing market updates and sales enablement content
  • Represent Transportation One at trade shows and industry events, with a focus on generating qualified sales meetings
  • Coordinate pre-show outreach, on-site engagement, and post-show follow-up to maximize event ROI
  • Own HubSpot data management, including contact creation, enrichment, list management, workflows, reporting, and overall CRM hygiene
  • Manage, consolidate, de-duplicate, and prioritize lead lists from trade shows, internal sources, and outbound campaigns
  • Research target accounts, ideal customer profiles, and key decision-makers to improve prospecting effectiveness
  • Build curated target account lists to support focused outbound activity
  • Partner closely with Business Development and Sales leadership to align marketing activity with pipeline and revenue priorities
  • Generate qualified sales meetings and sourced pipeline for the Business Development team
  • Track performance across lead generation, email engagement, social activity, CRM data quality, pipeline, and sourced revenue
  • Continuously test and improve campaigns, targeting, messaging, and lead-generation strategies

Additional duties may be assigned by supervisor.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in inside sales marketing, demand generation, or a sales and marketing hybrid role
  • Strong logistics and transportation industry experience, including knowledge of full truckload and drayage services preferred
  • Understanding of freight brokerage terminology, customer profiles, sales cycles, and market dynamics preferred
  • Experience running email marketing campaigns and managing prospect and lead lists
  • Hands-on experience with HubSpot or a comparable CRM, including data management, campaigns, workflows, and reporting
  • Experience generating leads or sales meetings through trade shows and industry events
  • Strong LinkedIn, social media, and content creation skills
  • Ability to research, segment, and strategically target prospects and decision-makers
  • Strong written communication, organization, and time-management skills
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working toward measurable pipeline and revenue goals
  • Experience in a B2B sales environment preferred
  • Familiarity with sales prospecting tools and account-based marketing strategies preferred
  • Basic graphic design or content creation experience using tools such as Canva or Adobe preferred

A combination of the above shall also be considered.

 

Working conditions

General office environment. Work is generally performed in a seated position with a high volume of computer screen reading, but may require standing and walking for up to 10% of the time. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard equipment available.

Hybrid schedule with monthly presence at Transportation One's Chicago HQ preferred.
