The world has changed. Why hasn’t insurance?

Kin’s mission is to reimagine home insurance For Every New Normal. While other insurers struggle to handle a fast-changing world, Kin is built for the future and is prepared to meet its challenges head on while helping our customers do the same.

Kin is proud to be one of BuiltIn Chicago’s 2021 and 2022 Best Mid Sized Companies to work for, and Forbes 2021 Best Startup Employers in North America. Simply put, our people are what make us great, and we need forward-thinking, inspired game-changers like you to join us in our mission.

So, what’s the role?

As a claims adjuster trainee, you'll learn how to help customers in their time of need. This is not a field position which means you'll be building relationships with customers over the phone and via chat and email too. It’s important you’re knowledgeable in property insurance, so we will help you obtain your adjuster’s license. In a fast-paced environment, you'll learn how to resolve claims efficiently while managing the claims process from start to finish.

You'll have the support of a collaborative team and ongoing coaching from leaders. We'll also teach you the insurance stuff - providing in-depth training on property damage and insurance contracts so you can confidently and independently adjust claims. Working from home, you'll be provided virtual training and onboarding.

Duties & responsibilities (upon completion of training)

  • Determine coverage
  • Determine liability (who's at fault for the damages)
