So, what’s the role?

Kin is growing! With the expansion of our Company we’re looking for a talented Claim Training Specialist to ensure consistency in our Claims Organization. 

As our Claims Trainer, you will create new content, update existing content and work with Leadership on training paths that support career development.  You will research the industry and market changes to create new material that will prepare our staff for the changing market.  You will work closely in developing our Adjuster Trainees to shape them into great adjusters.  You will work with our current team members to develop new knowledge and skills as well as enhancing the ones they currently possess. 

A day in the life could include: 

  • Supports the Claims Department with onboarding new team members and training existing staff on different loss types.
  • Works cross-departmentally to help educate other business areas about Claims practices.
  • Works with Compliance, Legal, and Leadership teams to update/build training content 
  • Promote new claim handling processes to achieve the cultural shift required to assist frontline claims adjusters to embrace innovation.
  • Facilitates training to individuals or groups.
  • Creates knowledge checks and provides results and feedback to leadership.
  • End to end file reviews to identify training gaps.
  • Assists with the pre-licensing period. Hosting virtual morning reviews and checking in on new hire progress.
  • Other duties as assigned.

I’ve got the skills… but do I have the necessary ones?

  • 5 years of Adjusting Experience
  • 2 years of Leadership or Training experience preferred 
  • Follow Company rules and policies
  • Consistently pursuing training innovation will require someone with exceptional determination, self motivation and interpersonal skills
  • Social perceptiveness: being aware of others' reactions and understanding why they react as they do
  • Research and investigative abilities; negotiation, conflict resolution and persuasion abilities; trustworthiness, integrity, and personal accountability; and adherence to standards of ethical behavior and professional conduct
  • Ability to interpret policies and other written technical information

Located in the historic Merchandise Mart Plaza, Kin's office is located directly off the Brown and Purple line stops, overlooking the Chicago River.
