Job Summary

Responsible for the development and execution of strategic communications for major program initiatives. Works cross-functionally and collaboratively to develop communications consistent with Corporate vision and strategy. Leads a team of dedicated Communications professionals assigned to fast-paced, strategic initiatives.

The ideal candidate has deep executive communications experience; and proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in the execution of high-impact communications programs in support of transformation and modernization of technology platforms to meet the needs of customers and patients.

  • Job Responsibilities
  • Partners closely with executive technical leadership to develop the technical communications and strategy. Guides the concept for communication across multiple channels to a diverse group of stakeholders, including global. Works with the Executive technology team to provide them with communications leadership, coaching on personal communications styles and create content for their key internal and external technical communications. Oversees and participates in the execution of a range of high-impact communications programs, spanning multiple markets.
  • Leads support for major technical programs, by creating appropriate communications for the senior leadership team that support their growth and profit goals. Identifies and develops innovative solutions on communication channel strategies. Develops guidelines, protocols and structures for communications across internal stakeholders, geographies and businesses. Ensures the vision, strategy, objectives and transformation activities are understood through appropriate messaging, enabling the workforce to contribute effectively.
  • Develops and leads strategic communications for major technical programs. Showcases leadership in engineering and research and shapes the future of the technology function through open communication and collaboration.
  • Serves as a cross-functional leader within the communications team and the company as a whole. Creates a roadmap and content strategy to unify and standardize internal communications; identify and build the best platforms and channels to share information and develop content strategy. Directs the resource strategy as it applies to contracted communications support. Looks for opportunities to draw connections across major programs, creating synergistic communications opportunities.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 6 years of experience in communications OR a High School diploma/GED and at least 9 years of experience in communications.
  • Experience supporting large, matrix and multi-cultural organizations, including employees, contractors and senior level leaders.
  • Experience leading the delivery of communications for major technical programs.
  • Experience leading cross-functional and complex change management initiatives.
  • Experience working with technology executives.
  • Experience developing a communications strategy based on the implementation of a best in class feedback gathering and reporting process.
  • Experience with cross-functional leadership.
  • Experience leading and/or managing a team across multiple regions.
  • At least 3 years’ experience of direct leadership and/or cross functional team leadership.
  • At least 2 years of experience planning, developing, and managing departmental expense and capital budgets.
  • Willing to travel at least 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in English, Communications or related field.
  • Master's degree OR MBA
  • Agency and/or in-house communications experience
  • Experience managing PR agencies, contractors, and other vendors
