Job Summary :
Technology Director with solid experience in Data and Analytics to lead operations and product support for Enterprise Data and Analytics. Data and Analytics are a critical part of WBA. We are looking for a leader who can manage a team, vendors, and Cloud partnerships to bring stability and operational excellence to the products we develop. You will be responsible for working with vendor partners to organize the team to support multiple product/ platform teams, including defining Service Level Agreements (SLAs), defect prioritization, and stakeholder updates. You should have substantial experience in operations/ production support, data and analytics engineering, and experience working with product teams in an agile delivery model. Experience in Quality Control and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) expertise to drive efficiencies and cost reduction in data operations. You will build and develop high performing teams and relationships with our internal and external development teams and operations partners located in both US and International. You will cultivate an environment that promotes autonomy, skill development, cloud upskilling, empowerment, transparency, innovation, automation, and continuous improvement. You need to leverage your prior experience, knowledge of Operations, industry trends, and dev Sec ops to define and execute operational excellence for our organization. You'll oversee the continuous improvement of operations such as SRE, proactive monitoring, standardization, automation, and intelligent operations. You will work closely with the analytics delivery teams to sustain and enrich the capabilities being deployed. You will be responsible for stabilizing entire Data and Analytics operations with improved mean time to resolve (MTTR) and reduced OPEX Year over year.
Job Responsibilities :

  • Develops and executes on IT product/service strategies and plans. Directs the operations of the assigned functional area to achieve strategic and operational business goals and targeted financial and content quality results. Establishes operational objectives for managers and/or teams of professionals in order to achieve the strategic and operational objectives of the group. Responsible for executing on functional and business goals for the specified area of expertise. Proactively addresses problems a cross functional areas of the business.
  • Provides day to day administrative direction and oversight of key technology/information systems and general support activities.
  • Works with key shareholders to formulate a comprehensive technology plan that is consistent with the overall business objectives and budgetary considerations.
  • Works with others to brainstorm new processes and solutions to resolve client issues.
  • Applies broad knowledge of product/service capabilities and environment to identify new growth areas, new technology and emerging product/service opportunities. Conducts technological research by studying organization goals, strategies, practices, and user projects. Recommends information technology strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes; identifying problems; evaluating trends; anticipating requirements.
  • Implements policies and defines approach to strategy achievement for specified area of responsibility.
  • Analyzes long term impact of new or anticipated strategies and decisions.
  • Manages budgets, operational plans and performance requirements for the specified are of responsibility.
  • Responsible for meeting budgetary goals and objectives.
  • Facilitates communication between staff, management, vendors, and other technology resources within and outside of the organization. Shares highly complex information related to areas of expertise. Interacts with senior management to keep abreast of objectives. Interacts with direct reports and peers in management / customers / vendors to interpret information and improve cross functional processes and programs. Builds and enhances key internal and external contacts.
  • May establish and manage a broad range of internal/external relationships for the support of the technical aspects of the specified area of responsibility.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 8 years of experience in IT and/or Data and Analytics Experience OR High School/GED and at least 11 years of experience in IT and/or Data and Analytics Experience
  • Experience establishing and maintaining relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization, in the business community and with IT vendors.
  • Experience diagnosing, isolating, and resolving complex issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems
  • At least 5 years managing IT infrastructure and/or IT Operations.
  • At least 3 years of experience managing level 1 operations functions for large scale corporate and/or retail systems.
  • Experience defining operation processes and selecting tools to support end to end production operations.
  • At least 5 years of experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace.
  • At least 5 years of direct leadership, indirect leadership and/or cross functional team leadership.
  • Willing to travel up to/at least 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor/Master's degree in Engineering field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience managing software or data engineering team
  • 4+ years of experience with cloud based data platforms and Azure Cloud solutions. Snowflake/ Data Bricks experience is nice to have
  • 5 years of experience with data streaming, Data Lake Infrastructure, Data Warehousing, and Data Analytics tools
  • Experience supporting solutions using data and platform services
  • Strong problem solving and analytical mindset
  • Able to drive, influence, and communicate with team members and business stakeholders effectively. Experience resolving end to end issues with higher levels of management.
  • Hands on experience with driving operational excellence and Data Operations
  • Experience in strategizing Operations team structure, Service introduction, and defining KPI's/OPI
  • Strong stakeholder management skills to manage Business, IT, and vendor partnership
  • Technology mindset: Strong engineering and technology expertise with quick learning ability
  • Stake Holder Management: Collaborator across the organization, leader, Communicator, and good listener
