Job Description
TITLE: Manager Modeling
DUTIES: Discover Products Inc. seeks Manager Modeling in Riverwoods, IL to motivate and mentor the team of data scientists and modelers to grow their skills and careers, focused on creating a nurturing environment, which encourages innovation and continual learning. Design, develop, and maintain files and processes to compile FR Y-14A summary templates to be submitted as part of the Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review (CCAR) and Dodd-Frank Act Stress Tests (DFAST) stress testing exercises. Leverage extensive, deep, technical knowledge and leadership skills to drive the development of forecasting models and implement financial data-driven recommendations and outcomes. Act as a liaison among Decision Management teams and other business partners in model lifecycle to escalate model time-to-market. Build relationships with business partners. Allocate resources and prioritize projects. Ensure the modeling and projection projects are delivered in a timely manner. Maintain a high level of competency in financial, statistical, and analytical principles, tools and techniques, and support the advancement of “best-in-class” analytical capabilities to unlock new capabilities and performance, and quickly adapt to modern modeling techniques to support capital stress testing. Demonstrate technical knowledge in analytical tools. Prepare presentations and analyses summarizing stress scenario financial projections. Promote a risk aware culture to ensure efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to required standards and processes.
REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or related field and four (4) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation: conducting regulatory reporting; and performing financial data analysis. Two (2) years of experience must include: utilizing technologies, including VBA and Tableau; creating and automating reports and dashboards; performing risk management and risk control; and performing advanced analytics at scale.
