Senior Manager of Web Analytics, Zoro

Primary Function:
Zoro is seeking a Senior Manager of Web Analytics to join our analytics team with the mission to transform Zoro’s customer interaction data into actionable insights. The ideal candidate will have a wealth of experience in managing an analytics function at a sizable ecommerce organization. This position will be responsible for developing and managing a team of web analytics professionals and creating an analytical roadmap to continue Zoro’s pursuit of a best in class analytics organization. The Sr Manager is the platform owner for Google Analytics, so a detailed understanding of the data flow from a data layer to a tag management system to a web analytics tool is critical for success in this role.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a team of web analysts and analytics managers in data collection and analysis best practices.
- Become the Zoro subject matter expert in Web analytics. Stay abreast of new trends in customer privacy and continually develop new programs and solutions to continually advance our capabilities.
- Manage and participate in various vendor relationships, including partnerships with web analytics partners and marketing partners.
- Effectively manage relationships with internal business customers. Ensure a high level of quality and satisfaction in delivered services.
- Work with database tools or scripting languages to process, report on, and draw business and marketing insights from a variety of datasets.
- Develop and perform quality checks on data for both ad hoc and ongoing processes. Monitor and maintain these automated processes.
- Proactively investigate traffic, conversion, and performance trends using customer transaction and web analytics data.
- Create compelling summaries and visualizations of datasets using available tools.
- Create and maintain reports, dashboards, and presentations explaining findings and recommendations.
- Manage and consult on website tag implementations, partnering with business teams, developers and analytics engineers to oversee the end to end data process, including requirements gathering, tag implementation, and tag QA.
- Research best practices in data analysis, reporting, data visualization, and statistical analysis; incorporate them into everyday work, and share with the wider business teams.
- Adopt industry best practices for data management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, analytics, economics, or similar and 5+ years of work experience.
- At least 2 years experience managing a team of developers and/or analysts.
- Ability to query using SQL. Python a plus.
- Experience creating automated data reporting solutions.
- Experience in data management and analytic methods are a must.
- Excellent understanding of business complexity and project interdependencies.
- Intellectual curiosity and the ability to question thought partners across functional areas.
- Experience with Google Analytics or Adobe Analytics a must.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to quickly troubleshoot problems that may arise in work products.
- In depth understanding of the various software development lifecycles (e.g. Agile, Waterfall, etc.)
