Job Description
TITLE: Senior Model Validation Specialist
DUTIES: DFS Corporate Services LLC seeks Senior Model Validation Specialist in Riverwoods, IL to perform independent validations on statistical, financial, and machine learning models across different business area models from areas of finance, treasury, acquisitions, marketing, fraud (including First-Party and Third-Party Fraud models), Anti-money Laundering (including Transaction Monitoring, Customer Risk Scoring, and Sanctions Screening models), loss forecast, PPNR forecast, risk, and collections in different lines of businesses like credit cards, network, payments, loans, and banking. Write and present model validation reports, and provide value-added recommendations to model owners and developers. Query data from multiple sources and platforms, including SAS, Teradata, Essbase, and Excel, to find the right information for the problems. Interpret model validation test results and establish required action plans with model owners and developers. Maintain and enhance the enterprise-wide model inventory. Maintain working papers and records of model validation results. Read model documentation, research modeling methodology and framework, and dig deeply into data. Ask the right questions to learn about the modeling process and techniques. Identify model limitations and recommend future action. Build benchmark models, when necessary using the best practice approach in the appropriate areas. Promote a risk‐aware culture to ensure efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to required standards and processes.
REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, or related field and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation: utilizing statistical analysis techniques, including Regression, Exploratory Data Analysis, Data Input Analysis, and Hypothesis testing; utilizing technologies, including SQL, JIRA, R, Excel, and Python; utilizing Big Data technologies, including Jupyter Notebook; and utilizing Time-Series modelling and Machine Learning modelling techniques, including Neural Networks and Text Mining.
