Wight & Company is currently looking for a summer intern to work in our Integrated Services Group as part of our preconstruction team in our Darien office. Interns have opportunities to work with our Integrated Services group, collaborating with Wight’s architects, engineers, and construction operations field team.

Wight & Company has one of the most robust Summer Intern programs in the industry! Preconstruction Interns have numerous opportunities to network with professionals and interns from all the various departments. The relationships forged during an internship can last the duration of a career!


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the preconstruction team with data entry and document organization.
  • Supporting construction schedule development and updates for upcoming projects.
  • Helping to create phasing and logistics plans.
  • Conducting comprehensive plan reviews to identify scopes of work.
  • Assist estimators in compiling project budgets, value engineering options, and cost comparison reports
  • Assisting in the development of detailed scope sheets for various bid packages.

Requirements:

  • Current student pursuing a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Adequate transportation to report to job sites as needed
  • Basic understanding of construction materials and methods
  • Good organization and computer skills
  • Openness to learn and have fun

Salary Range: $20 - $25/hr. Individual pay will be based on several factors including experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant.
