About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Principal Engineer to lead the strategy, architecture and delivery of secure network solutions in Wells Fargo data centers and Secure Network Interconnect sites. This role is responsible for end-to-end lifecycle ownership, including planning, solution development, design, configuration, and integration of next-generation secure network technologies.
Success in this role requires principal-level technical depth, exceptional troubleshooting capabilities, sound production judgment, architectural influence, and the ability to communicate effectively with senior stakeholders. In addition, this individual will mentor and elevate other engineers while driving measurable improvements in network reliability, service resilience, operational maturity, and the overall stability of critical enterprise network services.
In this role, you will:
  • Act as an advisor to leadership to develop or influence applications, network, information security, database, operating systems, or web technologies for highly complex business and technical needs across multiple groups
  • Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges requiring in-depth evaluation across multiple areas or the enterprise, delivering solutions that are long-term, large-scale and require vision, creativity, innovation, advanced analytical and inductive thinking
  • Translate advanced technology experience, an in-depth knowledge of the organizations tactical and strategic business objectives, the enterprise technological environment, the organization structure, and strategic technological opportunities and requirements into technical engineering solutions
  • Provide vision, direction and expertise to leadership on implementing innovative and significant business solutions
  • Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and new technologies and recommends innovations that enhance operations or provide a competitive advantage to the organization
  • Strategically engage with all levels of professionals and managers across the enterprise and serve as an expert advisor to leadership
Required Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 7+ years of experience in load balancing technologies (server side load balancing & GSLB) with vendors like F5, AVI, A10, NetScaler, AWS ELB, Azure Load balancer OR Firewall technologies (palo Alto, Fortinet, etc.)
  • 5+ years of Software Development experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 5+ years of advanced scripting experience using Ansible, Terraform, Python, YAML, Java, or PL-SQL
  • 2+ years of experience with source version control using GitHub or similar
  • Experience with creating and or updating technical design documentation used by engineering teams
Desired Qualifications:
  • Agile methodology experience
  • Knowledge/Skills/Ability to identify key issues, involve affected parties, design solutions, obtain buy-in, and communicate effectively through resolution
  • Experience working in a large enterprise environment
  • BS/BA degree or higher in information technology or equivalent work experience accepted
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skill
  • Ability to interact with integrity and a high level of professionalism with all levels of team members and management
  • Ability to manage initiatives including detailed planning, process management, and documentation
  • Experience in process Improvement (6 Sigma), solution implementation, and change management
Job Expectations:

Pay Range
Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.
$159,000.00 - $305,000.00
