About this role: Wells Fargo is seeking a Principal Engineer to join the Commercial and Corporate & Investment Banking Technology (CCIBT) team within Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB). In this role, you will help design, build, and deliver innovative technology solutions that support critical banking and capital markets platforms used by clients around the world. Working on complex, large-scale initiatives, you will collaborate closely with software engineers, architects, product teams, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions that align with strategic business objectives. You will play a key role in driving engineering excellence, advancing modern technology capabilities, and enabling growth across a diverse portfolio of banking, lending, investment banking, and markets services. In this role, you will: Lead complex technology initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impact Act as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large-scale technology solutions for technology engineering disciplines Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives, enterprise technological environment, and technical challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented technical factors Make decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions requiring understanding of industry best practices and new technologies, influencing and leading technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals Lead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor Required Qualifications: 7+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education 5+ years of experience with enterprise grade Manage File Transfer leading industry products such as Axway Secure Transport, IBM Connect Direct, Sterling B2B integrator or equivalent solutions. 3+ years of experience with secure file transfer protocols including SFTP, As2, NDM etc. 5+ years of experience with encryption technologies including PGP/GPG, SSL/TLS, digital certificates, key management, and data protection best practices 3+ years of experience with cloud storage and object storage technologies such as Amazon S3, Azure Blob, Google cloud storage 5+ years of experience with designing resilient, highly available, and secure enterprise file transfer architecture 3+ years of experience with cloud computing platforms including AWS, Azure, GCP 5+ years of experience with deploying and managing applications using K8/OpenShift, docker containers and modern cloud native architectures 5+ years of experience with supporting enterprise B2B managed file integrations, large scale partner onboarding, and migrations Desired Qualifications: Proven experience leading geographically distributed engineering teams Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to partner with business, application teams, infrastructure, cybersecurity, architecture Ability to drive engineering excellence through automation, standardization, continuous improvement, and operational metrics Job Expectations: This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship This position offers a hybrid work schedule Must be able to work on-site at the listed location Relocation assistance is not available for this position Job Posting Location 2600 S Price Rd., Chandler, AZ 85286 Posting End Date: 1 Oct 2026 *Job posting may come down early due to volume of applicants.
