The Program Manager provides Product Management leadership with a single, trustworthy view of progress on the organization's strategic, large-scale initiatives. Examples include: product modernization, AI, and other transformational projects across a portfolio of 40+ industry-specific software products. Working at the intersection of product, engineering, and leadership, the Program Manager owns accurate status reporting, milestone tracking, and risk visibility for these key projects, translating complex project details into clear, decision-ready reporting for executives and stakeholders.

This is a highly visible, cross-functional role that succeeds through influence, disciplined communication, and data rather than direct authority. The Program Manager works directly with product owners and cross-functional project teams to keep high-stakes initiatives on track, and gives leadership a real-time, honest picture of progress across the organization's most important product bets.

What You'll Do

Manage and Report on Key Strategic Initiatives

  • Manage and support key large-scale product projects. Actively manage progress on the organization's strategic product initiatives including product modernization, AI/ML integration, and other transformational, multi-quarter projects as examples, partnering closely with product owners and project teams to keep work moving against plan.

  • Own status reporting to leadership. Build and maintain accurate, timely, executive-ready status reports and dashboards for key projects, giving leadership a clear, consolidated view of progress, milestones, budget/resourcing status, and delivery timelines across the portfolio.

  • Track project health and key metrics. Define and monitor the milestones, KPIs, and success metrics for each large-scale initiative, translating detailed project activity into concise, decision-ready insight for leadership and flagging projects that are off track.

Keep Initiatives On Track

  • Identify and escalate risks and issues. Proactively identify risks, issues, blockers, and cross-team dependencies threatening a project's scope, schedule, or quality; maintain a clear view of open items and escalate to leadership with recommended paths forward.

  • Run project governance and cadence. Establish and facilitate a regular cadence of project reviews and checkpoints with project teams and leadership ensuring each key initiative has a consistent forum for reporting progress, making decisions, and resolving blockers.

  • Drive accountability across project teams. Hold project owners and cross-functional contributors (engineering, design, product marketing, product management, sales, customer success) accountable to committed timelines and deliverables, following up on action items and unresolved issues between checkpoints.

Communicate and Support Decision-Making

  • Communicate with stakeholders. Tailor communication of project status and impact for different audiences, from individual project teams to senior executives, keeping stakeholders informed and aligned throughout each initiative's lifecycle.

  • Support prioritization and planning. Provide leadership with the visibility needed to make informed trade-off and sequencing decisions across the portfolio of large-scale initiatives, based on current progress, risk, and resourcing.

Who You'll Work With

Product Management, Engineering, Design, Product Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success, as well as the Product leadership team. You will be the connective tissue that turns complex project details into consistent, decision-ready reporting, and an honest, real-time picture of how the organization's most important initiatives are performing.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 3–5 years of program or project management experience.

  • Demonstrated experience managing and reporting on the progress of strategic projects from initiation through delivery.

  • Hands-on proficiency using AI tools for program management and reporting.

  • Utilization and integration of AI in daily workflows.

  • Proven ability to build clear, accurate, executive-level status reports and dashboards and to present project progress confidently to senior leadership.

  • Experience identifying, tracking, and escalating project risks, issues, and dependencies, and driving resolution with cross-functional teams.

  • Experience establishing and running project governance cadences (e.g., steering committees, project reviews, checkpoint meetings).

Preferred

  • PMP certification; PgMP.

  • Experience managing large-scale, complex, or transformational initiatives in a software/SaaS or technology environment.

  • Experience in a large, multi-product software organization or a portfolio shaped by mergers and acquisitions, where products operate with a high degree of autonomy.

  • Familiarity with ERP or vertical-market/industry-specific software.

  • Experience working within or alongside a Product Management organization with product roadmaps and release processes.

  • Experience presenting project updates to senior executive audiences.

How Success Is Measured

Performance is measured on a paired set of leading and outcome indicators across the role:

  • Reporting reliability. Timeliness, accuracy, and leadership-rated trustworthiness of status reporting and dashboards for key strategic initiatives.

  • Risk visibility. Early identification and escalation of risks and issues — measured by how often problems are surfaced in time for leadership to act, rather than discovered after the fact.

  • Initiative outcomes. On-time, on-track support of the organization's key modernization, AI, and other large-scale product projects, and leadership-rated confidence in the governance cadence.
