Job Description

General Description: Responsible for testing Android applications to ensure quality, performance, usability, and lab logistics. Executes manual and automated tests, validates compliance with lab standards, identifies defects, and collaborates with developers to resolve issues across devices and OS versions.

- Starting compensation is based on experience.

- Must Already be in Chicago, IL or willing to relocate at own cost

Primary Responsibilities/Tasks:

  • Validate functionality, performance, usability, compatibility, and stability across multiple devices and OS versions.
  • Ensure applications meet internal lab standards and testing protocols.
  • Perform regression, integration, system, and acceptance testing.
  • Identify, document, and track defects; verify fixes and support root cause analysis.
  • Coordinate lab logistics, including device inventory management, setup, configuration, and maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate test documentation, reports, and compliance records.
  • Collaborate with developers, product managers, and cross-functional teams to clarify requirements and resolve issues.

Qualifications

Work Experience Requirements:

  • 1+ years of experience in Android mobile application testing.
  • Strong understanding of Android OS, device fragmentation, and application lifecycle.
  • Experience with automation tools (e.g., Appium, Espresso) and debugging tools (ADB, Logcat).
  • Familiarity with defect tracking systems (e.g., Jira) and Agile methodologies.

Education Requirements: Bachelor of Science in related engineering major (EE, CE, etc.)

Additional Information

Compensation

The expected salary range for this position is $58,000 to $63,000 base salary.  This range represents the minimum and maximum base salary we reasonably expect to pay for this role. Actual compensation within the range will depend on skills, experience, and qualifications.
