About the job…

The Sales and Business Development Representative is responsible for developing new business opportunities, supporting existing key accounts, and delivering technical and commercial proposals to customers across North America.

This is an onsite position located in Houston, TX.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and expand key customer accounts within the assigned territory.
  • Generate leads and initiate customer meetings.
  • Prepare technical and commercial proposals in response to customer inquiries.
  • Partner with engineering teams to develop application solutions and resolve technical challenges.
  • Maintain consistent customer communication throughout the sales cycle.
  • Ensure timely proposal submissions and follow-up correspondence.
  • Travel within North America (30–40%) as required.
  • Support overall business growth initiatives.

What you know:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, ideally in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in sales desirable.
  • Knowledge of rotating equipment (cryogenic pump experience preferred).
  • Understanding of B2B sales processes and commercial practices.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a team environment.
  • Self-driven with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Desire to start and build a career in Sales.

What’s in it for you?

At Alfa Laval, we carefully consider a wide range of factors to determine your total compensation package. We rely on market indicators and consider your specific job, background, skills, and experience to get it right.  The base salary for this role is typically $74,000.00 to $84,000.00.
