🌎 About Askable

Hey, we're Askable - the world's most loved user research platform. Loved by whom you ask? Doordash, Sephora, Canva, Mastercard, McDonald's and hundreds more. Not bad right?

Companies building apps and products need to talk to their customers before they build. Finding the right people to talk to is slow and painful. That's us. We find them, we screen them, we pay them, and we hand over the interviews already turned into clear answers our customers can act on.

The hard part is trust. Plenty of tools will hand you "insights" you can't trace to anyone real. Ours come with the person, the moment, and the video clip attached. That's the whole pitch, and it's the one you'll be making.

We've also spun up Askable Labs, working with frontier AI labs who need that same real human input to train their models on.

Started in 2017. Now a team across Brisbane, London and Chicago, and we're growing the US hard.

🦄 Our culture

Our culture drives everything we do. We live it, breathe it, and work every day to make Askable a place where people can thrive. We believe work should be fulfilling, exciting, and meaningful.

Here, you're not just part of a team. You're part of a community that cares about what they're building and how they're building it. In fact, we take culture so seriously that we wrote a book on it. Our Culture Book guides what we stand for, how we work, and the values that unite us. Because nothing beats winning with a team you genuinely love working with.

💡 About the role

We're hiring a high-energy Sales Development Representative (SDR) to hunt for new business and fuel our US growth. You'll build our outbound motion from the ground up alongside our Head of Sales Development.

You'll be the first point of contact for Research, UX, and Product leaders at enterprise brands. Your mission is quality pipeline: smart account selection, real research, messaging that lands, and clean handoffs to your AE.

You'll work cold outbound across phone, email, and LinkedIn. You'll also work the warm stuff. Webinars, content, event lists, and our Insight Exchange dinners are some of the best doors we have into hard-to-reach stakeholders, and you'll own turning that interest into meetings. No travel required.

You won't be doing this alone. We're bringing on multiple SDRs to build this function together, so you'll ramp alongside people learning the same thing at the same time.

––––––––––––––––––––

🛠 What you’ll do

  • Outbound prospecting: Build and own your target lists. Companies, personas, buying signals. Then run multi-channel cadences (phone, email, LinkedIn) to open conversations.

  • Account research and mapping: Go deep before you reach out. Form a view on what's likely going on inside an account, then map the buying committee and multi-thread across economic buyers, champions, and influencers.

  • Warm and inbound leads: Work leads from marketing activations and convert interest into qualified meetings, fast.

  • Events as an "in": Run pre-event outreach (list building, warm-up messaging, RSVPs) and post-event follow-up that actually converts. Quick, thoughtful, human.

  • Qualification: Qualify for fit and intent. Pain, stakes, urgency, stakeholders, process.

  • Pipeline generation: Book high-quality discovery meetings for AEs with clear context, notes, and agreed next steps.

  • Playbook building: A/B test messaging, watch your conversion rates, and iterate. Share what you learn from the field. Objections, patterns, ICP insights, competitive intel.

  • CRM hygiene: Keep HubSpot clean so handoffs and reporting are frictionless. Use the data to raise the quality of your meetings, not just the count.

––––––––––––––––––––

✅ What success looks like

In your first 90 days, you will:

  • Learn our ICP, personas, and value story for enterprise Research and UX teams

  • Build consistent outbound rhythms across phone, email, and LinkedIn

  • Start generating repeatable meetings that convert into qualified pipeline

  • Contribute to improving our messaging, sequences, and sales plays

––––––––––––––––––––

🦉 Skills and experience you’ll bring

We're open to a range of experience levels. If you've been an SDR, BDR, or worked in another high-output outbound role, we'd love to hear from you.

  • Outbound experience: SDR/BDR experience is preferred, but we also value comparable outbound experience (inside sales, recruiting, fundraising, or similar).

  • Cold outbound confidence: You're comfortable picking up the phone, navigating gatekeepers, and tailoring your pitch to senior stakeholders.

  • Strong communicator: You earn attention with relevance, and you can run a crisp qualification call without sounding like a script.

  • Research and mapping: You can dig into an account, work out who matters, and get momentum going with more than one person at a time.

  • Track record: You've hit targets for meetings booked and can show consistent activity and outcomes.

  • Sales tools: Comfortable with HubSpot, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and sequencing tools like Lemlist or Outreach (or you can learn fast).

  • Data-driven: You like digging into your own numbers to understand what's working and why.

Nice to have:

  • Experience selling into enterprise accounts and multi-stakeholder buying committees

  • Experience selling to Product, Design, UX, Insights, or Research teams

  • Familiarity with SaaS workflows and longer enterprise cycles

––––––––––––––––––––

🚀 The mindset you’ll need

  • Winning with your team: You'll be proud of your individual wins, but you find winning as a team more fulfilling.

  • Independence and curiosity: We don't micromanage. You'll need to think on your feet, solve roadblocks, and take full ownership of your targets.

  • Quality over noise: You care about qualified meetings and pipeline, not activity counts.

  • Comfortable with a blank page: The US playbook is still being written. You'll help write it.

  • Growth focussed: You thrive on stretch goals and are always looking to sharpen your sales craft.

  • Quick to learn: You can grasp the nuances of user research and articulate how Askable solves complex problems for our clients.

––––––––––––––––––––

📈 Where this goes

This role is a fast track into a closing seat. Our US team is growing, and we'd much rather promote from within than hire externally. Show us consistent pipeline creation, sharp qualification, clean handoffs and growing sales craft, and the path into an Account Executive role is there.

––––––––––––––––––––

🙌 Perks and benefits

Your excitement about the role itself is what matters most to us. Perks are just the icing on the cake

  • Competitive base salary + commission:

    • Base: $65,000 to $80,000 (depending on experience)

    • OTE: ~$100,000 with uncapped upside for high-quality results.

  • Generous PTO + Askable Days: One day off together each month, just for you.

  • Great Health Insurance & 401k Matching

  • Future international opportunities: Potential travel / training at to London and Australia offices

––––––––––––––––––––

☝️ Before you go...

Statistics show that members of certain groups, including women and people of color, are less likely to apply for a role unless they meet 100% of the qualifications. For example, some studies indicate women apply to 20% fewer jobs than men despite similar success rates.

At Askable, we care about your potential, not just your checklist. If you're excited about this role but your experience doesn't align perfectly, we'd still love to hear from you.
