The TruLaser Center 7030 is TRUMPF´s most advanced laser cutting system and provides a one stop solution for autonomous cutting, sorting and stacking of sheet metal parts. The Sales Engineer is essential to the product success and assists the Product Manager in pre- and post-sale support, as well as product demonstrations to customers. Principle Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist the product group in providing sales support to inside and outside sales force.
  • Work within a global and dynamic team based in our Smart Factory in Chicago.
  • Host and coordinate customer demonstrations, events and visits to the Smart Factory.
  • Maintain deep knowledge of product specifications, configurations, options and pricing.
  • Create and hold focused product presentations, sales training and seminars.
  • Work closely with Regional Sales Managers and Distributors to win machine orders.
  • Perform market analysis and develop strategies to create new opportunities.
  • Coordinate with the Applications team on time studies, sample parts, customer training and machine start up support.
  • Manage customer projects as needed.
  • Assist with product trade shows and events as needed.
  • Collect and maintain thorough knowledge of competitor machines.
  • Travel as needed, approximately 20% with focus in USA and Canada.

Experience / Education

Minimum of three year experience in technical sales, machine applications or related customer-facing role required. Good knowledge in TRUMPF laser machine portfolio, automation and storage systems preferred. Applicant should have a background in manufacturing with CNC machine tools, and ideally sheet metal experience. Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal are required as this position involves extensive contact with customers and sales representatives. Experience in Project Management preferred

Associate’s / Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in technical field such as mechanical engineering or industrial economics strongly preferred. High proficiency in MS Office with focus on PowerPoint and Excel required. Language skills in German or French are a plus.

Salary Range:  $79,200 - $118,700
