Who We Are

At Ecotrak, we make life easier for the people who keep facilities running. Our platform helps facilities teams spend less time managing repairs and more time staying ahead through better equipment tracking, actionable insights, and streamlined warranty management.

We work closely with our customers, listen to what they need, and build practical solutions that make a real difference in their day-to-day work. We care just as much about the people using our technology as we do about the technology itself.

We’re a hardworking, down-to-earth team that cares about doing right by our customers and each other. We work together, follow through, and aren’t afraid to roll up our sleeves when something needs to get done. We’re looking for people who want to help us build something useful and make a real difference for our customers.

About the Role

We’re hiring a founding Senior Sales Engineer to take ownership of the Sales Engineering function at Ecotrak. This is more than a demo role. You’ll serve as a trusted technical advisor throughout the sales cycle, lead complex solution conversations, and help our team connect Ecotrak’s capabilities to the business outcomes that matter most to our customers.

You’ll also build the foundation for how Sales Engineering operates at Ecotrak—from industry-specific demo environments and value-based presentations to technical enablement, RFP support, and repeatable processes.

What You’ll Own
  • Elevate Our Technical Sales Strategy: Partner with Sales leadership, Account Executives, Product, Engineering, and Marketing to strengthen our technical sales approach and improve how we position Ecotrak in the market.
  • Lead Complex Sales Opportunities: Take ownership of the technical side of strategic deals, including discovery, solution design, tailored demonstrations, integration and accounting workflow discussions, RFPs, executive presentations, sandboxes, and pilots.
  • Build a Scalable Sales Engineering Function: Establish repeatable processes, demo strategies, playbooks, templates, and tools that improve consistency and help the sales organization scale.
  • Create Exceptional Demo Experiences: Build and maintain polished, industry-specific demo environments that accurately reflect the needs of our restaurant, retail, oil and gas, and other multi-site customers.
  • Develop the Sales Team: Create training, certification, and ongoing enablement programs that prepare Account Executives to confidently lead introductory product demonstrations and speak to new product capabilities.
  • Be the Customer’s Technical Voice: Translate what we hear from prospects into meaningful feedback for Product and Engineering, helping connect customer needs, market trends, and product capabilities.
  • Help Shape the Future Team: As the founding member of the Sales Engineering function, help define how the function operates and support the hiring, onboarding, and development of future Sales Engineers.
What You’ll Get Done
  • Develop deep expertise in the Ecotrak platform, integrations, workflows, and the operational challenges faced by facilities teams.
  • Partner with Account Executives during discovery to uncover business challenges, success measures, technical requirements, stakeholders, and desired outcomes.
  • Design and deliver tailored, value-based demonstrations that connect Ecotrak’s capabilities directly to each prospect’s priorities.
  • Lead complex technical conversations involving integrations, accounting workflows, data, security, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Build and maintain polished demo environments for different industries, buyer groups, and use cases, ensuring they remain accurate as the product evolves.
  • Stay current on product releases and translate new capabilities into clear messaging, updated demonstrations, and practical training for the revenue team.
  • Create product training and demo-certification programs that prepare Account Executives to independently deliver effective introductory demonstrations.
  • Develop demo scripts, discovery frameworks, presentations, playbooks, technical resources, and follow-up materials that support the full sales cycle.
  • Own or coordinate the technical portions of RFPs, ensuring responses, requirements, and demonstrations are accurate, compelling, and completed on time.
  • Design and manage structured sandbox, trial, and pilot experiences when needed, including success criteria, customer enablement, technical support, and follow-up.
  • Partner with Account Executives on mutual action plans and help identify and reduce technical or operational risks that could prevent a deal from moving forward.
  • Contribute technical and customer insights to competitive battlecards and help ensure our positioning remains current and accurate.
  • Develop quarterly Sales Engineering priorities and improvement plans based on deal performance, customer feedback, product changes, and the needs of the sales team.
  • Measure the effectiveness of Sales Engineering efforts and identify opportunities to improve demo quality, sales readiness, deal progression, and win rates.
What You’ll Bring to the Crew
  • 3+ years of experience in Sales Engineering, Solutions Consulting, or a similar technical sales role; founding Sales Engineer or startup experience is a plus.
  • Experience with facilities management software, enterprise restaurant technology, or another complex B2B SaaS solution.
  • Proven ability to lead discovery, uncover underlying business needs, and translate product capabilities into clear, measurable value.
  • Experience creating value-based demo strategies, scripts, tailored presentations, and polished demo environments for different industries, buyers, or use cases.
  • Experience owning the technical side of complex sales opportunities, including integrations, workflows, RFPs, pilots, sandboxes, or other technical evaluations.
  • Experience developing product training, enablement materials, or demo-certification programs for Account Executives or other customer-facing teams.
  • Strong technical aptitude and the ability to quickly develop deep product expertise and independently lead detailed technical conversations.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and translate technical concepts for end users, technical stakeholders, and executive audiences.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach and the ability to work independently, navigate ambiguity, collaborate across teams, and identify opportunities to improve the sales process.
Nice to Have
  • Experience as a founding or early Sales Engineer at a startup or growing SaaS company.
  • Experience developing product training or formal demo-certification programs for Account Executives or other customer-facing teams.
  • Familiarity with CMMS, work-order management, asset management, preventive maintenance, warranty management, or facilities operations software.
  • Experience supporting restaurant, retail, oil and gas, or other multi-site enterprise customers.
  • Familiarity with APIs, SSO, data mapping, accounting workflows, security reviews, and enterprise integrations.
  • Experience developing competitive positioning or contributing to battlecards and product marketing materials.
  • Experience building demo environments or using tools that support interactive and self-guided product experiences.
Who You’ll Work With

You’ll report to the VP of Sales and partner closely with Account Executives, Product, Engineering, Marketing, Customer Success, and company leadership. As the founding member of the Sales Engineering function, you’ll have meaningful ownership over our technical sales strategy, demo experience, enablement program, and future team structure.

Why You’ll Love Working With Us
  • Competitive salary and performance-based incentives.
  • Full benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and a 401(k) with a 4% company match.
  • Unlimited PTO and 12 paid holidays.
  • Tuition reimbursement, team-building events, and company swag.
  • The opportunity to establish a critical function, directly influence how we go to market, and help build the future Sales Engineering team.

Salary: $120,000–$140,000 base salary, with on-target earnings of $150,000–$170,000.
