As a Sales Specialist-Commercial Insurance expert, you will accept incoming calls and make outbound calls to our prospective customers and partners, assessing their needs, while identifying products/services that are made available by our commercial insurance carrier partners. You will finalize the sale of these products/services and will ensure offerings comply with our insurance carrier partners, Answer’s sales center, and state regulatory requirements.

COMPENSATION:

  • Base pay: $19.01-$23.77 per hour and is based on experience and qualifications. The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation.
  • Target total compensation: $49,440 to $74,160 per year (Base Pay + uncapped performance-based Incentives). Incentives are based on productivity and are not guaranteed. Payments are governed by the terms of the applicable sales bonus plan, which is subject to change at Answer Financials’ discretion.
  • Pay differentials may apply for Spanish/English bilingual.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Sell multiple commercial insurance products and provide an exceptional customer experience.
  • Promptly return calls to customer inquiries to finalize and/or preserve the sale.
  • Recommend solutions and provide product options to meet customer needs, including increased coverage and product combinations.
  • Demonstrate knowledge on specific insurance carrier product guidelines.
  • Remain current on product offerings, enhancements, and/or changes/modifications.
  • Maintain state licensing requirements, keep abreast of regulatory changes and requirements.
  • Achieve acceptable retention on written business.
  • Follow-up on past quotes and with clients.
  • Ability to follow script – this is a highly regulated industry where compliance is critical.
  • Responsible to develop relationships with direct referral partners
  • Be able to ask for and inspire referred leads.
  • Demonstrated ability to build rapport with callers.
  • Be driven and ambitious with a willingness to work hard and competitive in team atmosphere to achieve company objectives with and personal production goals.
  • Meet the needs of the business by following attendance, adherence, quality guidelines while maintaining the established production levels.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Commercial sales experience preferred.
  • Strong computer and multi-tasking skills.
  • Strong sales skills with an ability to overcome objections to influence and persuade customers to purchase insurance products.
  • Take initiative, multi-task, be collaborative, and use sound judgment in decision making and problem solving.
  • Ability to provide professional and a winning customer experience.
  • Ability to embrace change and make adjustment when necessary.
  • Ability to build relationships with business partners and inspire referred leads.
  • Demonstrated Ability to set and achieve goals.
  • Successfully complete all product and/or skill-enhancement training.
  • Demonstrated proficiency of MS Office products (Outlook, Word, and Excel), internet, and other related computer applications.
  • Flexibility with work schedule to meet the needs of customer and the business.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • College degree preferred.
  • Active general lines Property & Casualty license (preferred)

  • We offer Answer Financial (AFI) commercial training course
  • Pass and/or maintain required state licensing and carrier appointments.
  • Pass AFI Compliance guideline qualifications

* Please note Company guidelines require a Property & Casualty license.
