Hi, welcome to PerkSpot. We’re looking for an eager and hardworking Business Development Representative to join our team and be instrumental in sourcing and coordinating business relationships with prospective merchants. You will work closely with the rest of the sales team to identify, track, and accomplish team goals.
Building merchant relationships is very important to the success of PerkSpot. As a Business Development Representative, you will assist the sales team with sourcing merchant partners, strategizing ongoing and new perks, conducting market research, and several other tasks. Our ideal candidate is an expert multitasker with an insatiable desire to succeed.

Meet the Merchant Partnerships Team
Our Merchant Partnerships team is made up of hard workers who build and manage relationships with PerkSpot merchants and pass savings along to our millions of users. In collaboration with other team members, you’ll work to monitor existing partnerships, while sourcing new deals and discounts to drive success on the platform. Every day you will work with individuals on your team to maintain a healthy pipeline, while interfacing externally with marketing experts and affiliate network partners.
Life as a Business Development Representative:
- Developing a familiarity with every partner’s industry, as well as the advertising and affiliate industries as a whole
- Sourcing leads and conducting outreach for the most popular consumer product and services, as well as gift card and theme park partners
- Working with the Merchant Partnerships team to strategize on specific accounts and maintain a healthy partner pipeline
- Assisting Account Managers and Account Executives with active and prospective client relationship management
- Helping the team meet or exceed monthly goals and sales benchmarks
- Maintaining a pulse on current industry developments and how these developments affect PerkSpot
- Attending regular team and staff meetings to go over company goals, success benchmarks, and sales strategies
- Constantly think of ways to make the PerkSpot experience better and more effective for its customers
What we’re looking for:
- Background in sales, business development, advertising, and/or affiliate marketing strongly preferred
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Experience with MS Office, Salesforce, and/or Zoom a plus!
- Exceptional communication skills and a proven ability to meet strict deadlines
- Talent for collaboration and organization, with great attention to detail
- Positive attitude and a thoughtful approach to relationship building
- Desire to learn and grow within a fast-paced, constantly changing work environment
- Enthusiasm for the role and PerkSpot as a whole; proven understanding of PerkSpot’s values and a willingness to work hard to achieve company goals
Your First Few Months
Starting on your first day, you’ll learn the ins and outs of how PerkSpot runs and how we do things. After that, you’ll dig deep into both the advertising and affiliate industries - your ability to speak to their terminology and understand how they run will be an important factor in partners deciding to work with us. Once you’re up to speed on the business side of things, you’ll begin project-specific outreach to help us with a few time-sensitive industry launches, and then start setting and achieving short- and long-term goals with a specific Account Executive. Throughout the first 90 days and your entire time at PerkSpot, you’ll be exposed to endless learning opportunities and growth that will define your career for years to come.
