(Senior) Account Manager, Home Furnishings Vendor Accounts

About Cora

An outstanding opportunity to join a creative industry — home furnishings and interior design — and join a startup at a momentous time in its journey. You'll also help shape the company, product and culture — with equity ownership.

It's a thrilling time at Cora. We are a two-sided, B2B marketplace platform for interior design firms and home furnishings vendors. We've recently launched our marketplace for vendors to onboard, and designers will be welcomed soon to purchase.

We're building the future of B2B furnishings tech. We love working with fun, resourceful and passionate people who also believe in our culture of kindness and respect. You'll be part of the Cora startup team from across the U.S. who comprise A-players from a variety of backgrounds.

Cora is a venture-backed tech company.

About the Role

It's your job to discover the next wave of furnishings vendors - to engage the hottest vendors, hidden gems and staples.

You will be tasked with establishing new vendor accounts and relationships, guiding vendors through platform onboarding and helping to get their product listings loaded onto the platform, within the first 30 days of the vendor signing up. You'll support these vendors throughout their journey with Cora.

We're seeking an account manager who loves design, tech, sales and building relationships. The ideal candidate is responsive, organized, energetic, business-oriented, scrappy and tech savvy for this hybrid role of brand curation, sales and account management. We are looking for someone who can take a project from start to finish with only purpose-driven direction, and who understands how to drive down costs over time. You must put a high value on client success.

You will report directly to the Founder/CEO, and have the opportunity to shape and create sales initiatives and ideas, such as content creation, cross-promotions and product-driven acquisition ideas to drive down the cost of user acquisition.

This position is remote from anywhere in the United States. When our office re-opens you are welcome in the Chicago-based office, if you desire.

What You'll Do

  • Discover, log and organize emerging, scaling and established home furnishings vendors in a CRM; create and maintain qualification standards for vendors; 5-10% travel to trade shows in the United States to meet with vendors
  • Actively manage cold & warm outbound and inbound sales communications with qualified vendors to drive platform sign ups
  • Review, analyze and admit new vendors onto the platform, and welcome new user(s)

  • Develop and suggest new and innovative sales ideas; work with extended Cora team to hypothesize, test and implement ideas to bolster sign ups, retention and efficacy; create and maintain sales collateral in collaboration with marketing
  • Schedule and conduct calls to sell platform value and features to drive sign ups; identify needs and goals of the furnishings vendor and demonstrate how Cora can help grow their business and reduce overhead costs
  • Become a market expert: gather vendor feedback, monitor competitor activity, and provide recommendations to the Cora team for platform improvements to enhance the vendor experience; attend platform functionality planning meetings
  • Onboard Cora vendors and engage them in the software effectively and efficiently, with a focus on creating impact for the right people at the vendor's organization
  • Guide vendor through product listings data upload process with the development team to enable vendor’s full catalog on Cora's marketplace
  • Answer vendor questions about platform features and functionality; escalate vendor questions or concerns to appropriate internal Cora development team or leadership
  • Schedule reoccurring follow up calls to continue to drive adoption, value and increase likelihood of retention
  • Meet minimum quantitative and qualitative account improvement objectives; record and recap results of sales and retention efforts and present results to team
  • Contribute to a positive work environment and embody the Cora culture
