Job Summary & Responsibilities

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years in cybersecurity, including substantial experience in cryptography, encryption, or closely related security domains
  • 3+ years managing consultants or security practitioners, with direct responsibility for hiring, development, and performance management
  • Strong working knowledge of enterprise key management, PKI, HSM concepts, encryption architectures across data states, and post-quantum migration challenges, sufficient to guide delivery teams and assure deliverable quality
  • Experience managing consulting delivery portfolios, including staffing, utilization, financials, and client escalations
  • Presales experience, including scoping, estimation, proposal development, and SOW creation
  • Track record of building or scaling teams, practices, or service offerings
  • Executive-level communication and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior hands-on delivery background in cryptography, key management, PKI, or HSM operations
  • Familiarity with NIST PQC standardization outcomes, CNSA 2.0 migration timelines, and crypto-agility frameworks
  • Familiarity with the HSM and key management vendor ecosystem (e.g., Thales Luna, Entrust nShield, Utimaco; AWS, Azure, and GCP KMS/HSM services) and certificate lifecycle management platforms
  • Experience launching new service offerings or standing up a new practice within a consulting organization
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCSP, PMP)
  • MBA or advanced degree in computer science, cybersecurity, or a related field

Certain states and localities require employers to post a reasonable estimate of salary range. A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $134,800 to $168,500 annually. Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including shift, location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in the base pay.

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Manager to lead and grow our post-quantum readiness consulting practice. This role owns the people, quality, and growth of a team of consultants delivering client engagements focused on cryptographic risk, encryption modernization, key lifecycle management, and quantum-resilient architecture.

The role centers on people leadership, practice development, delivery oversight, and business growth. The Manager builds and develops the consulting team, assures the quality of client deliverables, shapes the PQC service portfolio, and partners with sales on pipeline and pursuits. The role works closely with Principal Consultants, who lead executive-level strategy and advisory.

The ideal candidate combines proven consulting leadership, including hiring, developing, and managing senior technical talent, with strong working knowledge of cryptography across key management, PKI, encryption operations, and post-quantum migration, sufficient to guide delivery teams, review deliverables, and represent the practice credibly with clients and executives.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & People Management

  1. Build, lead, and develop a team of security consultants specializing in cryptography, encryption modernization, and post-quantum readiness
  2. Own hiring, onboarding, performance management, career development, and retention for the practice
  3. Manage team utilization, staffing assignments, and capacity planning across concurrent client engagements
  4. Coach consultants on technical delivery quality, client communication, and consulting skills, and develop Lead Consultants toward Principal-level readiness

Practice & Offering Development

  1. Define and evolve the PQC service portfolio, including readiness assessments, cryptographic discovery and inventory, key management and PKI programs, and migration planning offerings
  2. Develop and maintain delivery methodologies, accelerators, templates, and reusable assets that standardize engagement quality
  3. Monitor market, regulatory, and standards developments and translate them into offering updates and practice positioning

Delivery Oversight & Quality Assurance

  1. Provide oversight across the engagement portfolio, including scope, schedule, margin, delivery risk, and client satisfaction
  2. Review and approve key client deliverables such as assessments, cryptographic roadmaps, and architecture recommendations for technical rigor and business relevance
  3. Serve as the escalation point for delivery issues, resolving staffing, scope, and client concerns

Business Development & Growth

  1. Partner with sales and account teams on pipeline development, opportunity qualification, and pursuit strategy for cryptography and PQC services
  2. Lead scoping, estimation, proposal development, and SOW creation for new engagements
  3. Cultivate executive client relationships and identify expansion opportunities within active accounts
  4. Support marketing through thought leadership, whitepapers, industry presentations, workshops, and executive briefings

Executive & Client Engagement

  1. Act as senior practice sponsor for strategic engagements, participating in steering committees and executive readouts
  2. Partner with Principal Consultants on executive-level strategy, advisory, and board briefings
  3. Represent the practice at industry events and in analyst and vendor briefings

Financial & Operational Management

  1. Own practice financial performance, including revenue targets, utilization, margin, and forecasting
  2. Run the practice operating cadence, including pipeline reviews, delivery reviews, and team meetings
  3. Report practice health, metrics, and growth plans to Solutions-Security leadership
