Senior Accountant (Contract)

Position Summary

As Senior Accountant, you'll work closely with the Vice President of Finance and Accounting to support the team. In this position, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, efficiency, and integrity of the financial operations for our growing software firm. The ideal candidate is available up to 40 hours per week based on project needs. Activities include A/R, A/P, GL, Sales Tax, Payroll, and financial statement generation.

You will enjoy working in a flexible remote environment where mutual respect is a key ingredient. The team is supportive, very talented and is always encouraged to communicate ideas with the executive team. Our Finance team is critical to our continued success and is appreciated as such.

Responsibilities

  • Execute defined accounting deliverables, including: Journal entries, accruals, A/R, A/P and account reconciliations.
  • Sales Tax and Payroll processing support on a defined-cycle basis.
  • Financial and SOC audit assistance.
  • Financial statement generation.
  • Cash management, budgeting and forecasting activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Available up to 40 hours per week based on project needs
  • 3-5 years of accounting experience
  • Experience with accounting software
  • Experience creating and preparing financial statements
  • Advanced Excel expertise required
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
  • GAAP Proficiency
  • Experience in SaaS, technology, or software company preferred
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills
  • A drive to continue learning, specifically about the energy business and W Energy software
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • Responsible individual with a strong work ethic and analytical mind to play a key administrative role
