An Introduction to Codal

Codal is an award-winning web design and development consultancy that helps enterprise organizations solve complex problems and accelerate growth through elegant, data-driven digital solutions. Our areas of expertise include application modernization, eCommerce, UX/UI design, product strategy, data analytics, and artificial intelligence.

At Codal, you will collaborate with some of the most innovative organizations in the world and work on cutting-edge technologies that push the boundaries of design and software development. We promote long-term success, not just for our clients but for our team, helping you develop a professional roadmap that takes your career to new heights.

About the Role

Codal is looking for a Senior Business Development Executive to build and drive new business, starting with the first conversation and carrying it all the way through to a signed deal. This is a relationship-driven role for someone who thrives on building a pipeline from scratch and opening doors with prospects. You'll identify targets, start conversations, qualify interest, and lead prospects through proposals and negotiation to close, partnering closely with our delivery and solutions teams to shape the right approach for each client.

We're especially interested in people with a consultancy or agency background, but we're just as open to candidates from partnership and channel roles, or other strong outbound performers who know how to prospect and aren't afraid to build something from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prospect and qualify outbound leads across phone, email, LinkedIn, and events to build a strong top-of-funnel pipeline
  • Identify key decision makers within target accounts, build trust, and develop relationships on behalf of Codal
  • Research and understand prospect business challenges, and position Codal's services as relevant solutions
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, marketing, and partnerships to align on target accounts and messaging
  • Stay current on industry trends across e-commerce, CMS, and digital transformation to speak credibly with prospects
  • Track activity and pipeline in Salesforce, and report on key sales performance metrics
  • Continuously test and refine outbound approaches, bringing your own ideas to the table
  • Represent Codal at industry conferences and trade shows, with occasional travel as needed
What You Bring
  • 5+ years of relevant outbound sales experience, ideally from a consultancy, agency, or partnership/channel environment
  • A track record of building pipeline and hitting quota through self-sourced outreach
  • Comfort with cold calling, cold emailing, and social selling as part of a multi-channel approach
  • Experience working in Salesforce or a similar CRM
  • Familiarity with sales tools such as LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Outreach, ZoomInfo, Google Workspace, and AI tools like Claude or Gemini
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to handle objections and hold a business conversation
  • A self-starter mentality: comfortable with ambiguity, proactive, and willing to roll up your sleeves
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities at once
Why Codal
  • A global digital consultancy with offices in the US, UK, and India, and 200+ employees
  • Downtown Chicago office with a gym, food court, rooftop bar, and outdoor sports court
  • Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance
  • 401(k) match
  • Team events, happy hours, and recreational sports leagues
  • Real opportunity for career growth as our sales team scales
