The Senior Content Strategist will lead the development of high-performing content for e-commerce platforms, with a focus on scaling content production through AI-enabled workflows. This person will partner with strategy, creative, and account teams to deliver smart content strategies and optimized content that elevates the customer journey and drives conversion across the digital shelf. The Senior Content Strategist role requires deep expertise in retailer content capabilities, SEO best practices, content syndication platforms, and applying AI tools to produce optimized content at scale.
Responsibilities:
- Content Development at Scale: Lead the creation of high-performing digital shelf content — including basic text, above-the-fold (ATF) image headlines, enhanced content, and digital storefronts such as Amazon Stores — leveraging AI tools and integrations to scale production without sacrificing quality.
- Content Optimization: Apply keyword research and SEO best practices to optimize digital shelf content for retailer algorithms and AI shopping assistants. Develop optimization frameworks that can be applied across product portfolios.
- AI-Enabled Workflows: Identify, evaluate, and integrate AI tools into content development and optimization workflows. Build repeatable processes that allow teams to produce, refine, and govern content efficiently across multiple brands and retailers.
- Strategy Execution: Align deliverables with category/shopper research, e-commerce best practices, and brand guidelines. Translate strategic insights into measurable content programs across Amazon, Walmart, and other retailer environments.
- Collaboration & Mentorship: Partner closely with designers, copywriters, account teams, and junior content strategists to deliver seamless, high-quality content across multiple retailers. Provide guidance and feedback that elevates the work of the broader team.
- Research & Analytics: Apply industry trends, competitive analysis, and performance metrics to inform content strategies and continuously refine best practices. Use performance data to recommend optimizations and demonstrate impact to clients.
- Project Management: Manage timelines, milestones, and quality across multiple concurrent projects, ensuring consistency and on-time delivery.
Requirements:
- 4-6 years of experience in content creation, content optimization, and strategy, specifically for e-commerce platforms.
- Proven experience developing and optimizing product detail page (PDP) content, with demonstrated results on Amazon and Walmart.
- Hands-on experience using AI tools and integrations to produce content at scale.
- Strong understanding of differences in retailer content capabilities (e.g., Amazon Stores vs. Walmart Brand Shop & Shelf).
- Experience managing content in PIMs/DAMs such as Salsify and Syndigo.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working in a collaborative team environment, managing multiple projects, and meeting tight deadlines.
- A strong understanding of e-commerce trends, retailer algorithms, AI shopping assistants, and evolving customer behaviors.
