What this job involves:

As a Senior Financial Analyst supporting JLL's Heartland Region Leasing Advisory team in Chicago, you'll serve as a critical financial business partner to our leasing leadership and teams across the region. This role offers the unique opportunity to blend technical financial expertise with strategic business partnership, working directly with senior leaders to drive financial performance and decision-making. You'll be at the center of financial planning, analysis, and reporting for one of JLL's key markets, translating complex financial data into actionable insights that shape business strategy.

If you thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where your analytical skills directly impact business outcomes, this position offers an exceptional opportunity to advance your career with a global real estate leader.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Prepare for and lead monthly financial meetings with regional leadership, presenting P&L reviews for each geographic team that compare actual revenue and expense results against Plan and prior year performance.
  • Producing accurate monthly financial statements and conducting variance analysis across revenue schedules, labor reports, expenses, and team profitability metrics.
  • Play an integral role in annual financial planning and rolling forecast processes, working collaboratively with stakeholders across the region to build robust financial models.
  • Managing the accuracy of the transaction pipeline will be a key focus, as you obtain and update deal details while ensuring our work-in-process reporting remains current.
  • Oversee Accounts Receivable objectives through regular maintenance and research, review accounts payable vouchers for accuracy and compliance, and process broker commissions while verifying alignment with lease and commission agreements.
  • Review balance sheets, validate reconciliation timeliness, support ad-hoc reporting requests, and drive process improvements through automation and simplification initiatives that enhance efficiency while maintaining data integrity.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum of 4-5 years of progressive experience in financial analysis, including demonstrated expertise in variance analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Proven track record of successfully partnering with diverse stakeholders, including sales professionals and senior business leaders, to deliver financial insights that drive decision-making.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to translate complex financial results into clear, actionable recommendations for non-finance audiences through both written reports and verbal presentations.
  • Self-starter mentality with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, prioritize competing deadlines effectively, and excel in fast-paced, customer service-oriented environments.
  • High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications, with the ability to leverage advanced functions for financial modeling and analysis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in commercial real estate, professional services, or transaction-based business environments.
  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft and Oracle financial systems and reporting tools.
  • Familiarity with commission processing, revenue recognition principles, and accounts receivable management best practices.
  • Experience developing and implementing process improvements, automation solutions, or system enhancements that improve financial operations efficiency.
  • Strong project management skills with experience supporting special projects and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Ability to balance strong attention to detail with big-picture strategic thinking.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability in managing evolving priorities and task assignments.
