Job Title: Senior Project Manager 

Locations: Jacksonville, FL, Chicago, IL, Boston, MA | Hybrid 

  

About the Role 

SS&C Advent delivers financial technology solutions and services to financial services clients in the asset management, wealth management, and alternative investment space around the globe. 

As SS&C Advent Senior Project Manager, you will lead and oversee all aspects of software implementation projects for SS&C clients. You will be fully accountable for project scope, resource allocation, milestone achievement, and cost management. Leveraging your expertise in project management methodologies, you will ensure that business requirements are met and proactively address any deviations from the project plan related to scope, resources, schedule, or budget.  

This role requires collaboration with multiple internal teams and external clients to deliver high-quality solutions. The Senior Project Manager is expected to proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to the organization’s best practices.

How You Will Make an Impact 

Client Engagement & Relationship Management 

  • Establish and maintain strong rapport with clients throughout the project lifecycle. 
  • Host project workshops, including project initiation sessions, to align stakeholders and set clear expectations. 
  • Manage clients’ expectations and promptly address their concerns and feedback. 

 

Project Planning & Execution 

  • Review and define project objectives in collaboration with clients and internal teams. 
  • Develop and establish project baselines, including scope, resources, schedule, and budget. 
  • Track and manage project execution, ensuring activities are completed on time and within budget. 
  • Collaborate with consultants and cross-functional teams (Managed Services, IT, R&D, etc.) to deliver successful project outcomes. 

 

Risk, Change, and Issue Management 

  • Identify, assess, and plan mitigation strategies for project risks. 
  • Oversee change management processes, including documentation and approval of changes to scope, schedule, or resources. 
  • Manage issue escalation and resolution to minimize project disruptions. 

 

Resource & Team Collaboration 

  • Effectively manage project resources, ensuring optimal allocation and utilization. 
  • Work closely with consultants and other internal stakeholders to make collaborative decisions regarding project solutions. 

 

Required Experience  

  •  6–10 years of software implementation experience in a client-facing capacity. 
  • 6–10 years of experience in the asset management industry. 
  • Demonstrated experience with project management tools and leading projects with complex Work Breakdown Structures (WBS). 
  • Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences. 
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% as required by project needs. 

 

What Sets You Apart (preferred qualifications) 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Finance, or a related field. 
  • Professional certifications such as PMP or PRINCE2 are highly desirable. 
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. 
  • Experience mentoring junior staff or leading cross-functional teams. 
  • SS&C product knowledge.

Actual base salary will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to relevant skills, prior experience, education, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.

Other States expected base salary for the position is between 150,000 USD to 170,000 USD. Illinois: The expected base salary for the position is between 150,000 USD to 170,000 USD. Massachusetts: The expected base salary for the position is between 150,000 USD to 170,000 USD.

In addition, employees in this role may be eligible for consideration on an annual basis for a discretionary bonus and/or equity awards, such as restricted stock units or stock options, based upon individual and business performance at the company’s discretion.
