The summary above was generated by AI

We're looking for a senior SEO Manager to join our growing team and own technical, content, and local SEO execution across a portfolio of law firm clients. This is an internal role and you'll work closely with our account strategists who handle all client communication, freeing you up to focus entirely on the work.

You'll be part of an existing SEO team and are expected to bring senior-level expertise, sharp diagnostic instincts, and a systematic approach to execution. If you're someone who gets genuinely energized by crawl data, ranking movements, and finding the technical reason a site isn't performing the way it should, this role is for you.

How the role works

You'll receive scoped work from account strategists via Asana, with budgets and priorities already defined. When you need information or access from a client, you'll pass a clear request to the strategist who handles that communication on your behalf. Your job is to execute at a high level, flag issues proactively, and ensure keyword benchmarks are moving in the right direction.

What you'll do

Technical SEO

  • Conduct comprehensive technical SEO audits across client sites and prioritize fixes by impact
  • Diagnose and resolve crawlability, indexation, site speed, Core Web Vitals, and structured data issues
  • Implement and maintain schema markup across law firm site templates in WordPress
  • Manage redirects, canonicalization, XML sitemaps, and robots.txt configurations
  • Monitor site health on an ongoing basis using tools like Screaming Frog, Semrush, and Google Search Console

Content SEO

  • Conduct keyword research and develop content strategies aligned with each client's practice areas and target markets
  • Produce detailed content briefs for writers that translate SEO intent into clear, actionable guidance
  • Audit and optimize existing on-page content for relevance, structure, and search intent
  • Identify content gap opportunities and develop roadmaps to close them

Local SEO

  • Own local SEO strategy across client portfolios including Google Business Profile optimization, citation building, and local pack performance
  • Monitor and improve local rankings across target practice areas and geographies
  • Identify and resolve local listing inconsistencies across directories and data aggregators

Reporting and collaboration

  • Track and report on keyword benchmark performance, surfacing insights and recommending course corrections when targets are off track
  • Work within Asana to manage tasks, track budgets, and communicate progress clearly to strategists
  • Collaborate with the broader SEO team to share learnings, align on best practices, and contribute to process improvements
  • Stay current on algorithm updates, industry changes, and emerging SEO best practices in the legal vertical

Requirements
  • 5+ years of hands-on SEO experience, with a strong track record across technical, content, and local SEO
  • Deep familiarity with WordPress, including comfort implementing technical SEO changes directly in the CMS and common plugins (Yoast, RankMath, etc.)
  • Expert-level proficiency with Screaming Frog, Semrush, Ahrefs, Google Search Console, and Google Business Profile
  • Strong understanding of Core Web Vitals, page speed optimization, and how site performance intersects with SEO
  • Proven ability to conduct keyword research and translate findings into clear content strategies and briefs
  • Experience managing local SEO across multi-location clients or businesses with multiple service areas
  • Highly organized and comfortable managing a large volume of client work through project management tools
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Agency experience strongly preferred
Bonus skills (nice to have)
  • Experience in the legal vertical or other regulated industries
  • Familiarity with log file analysis and crawl budget optimization
  • Experience with link building strategy and execution
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript as they relate to SEO implementation
  • Exposure to GA4, GTM, and conversion tracking setup

Benefits
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Company-sponsored 401(k) with matching
  • Flexible work schedule, work when and where you're most productive as long as deliverables are met
  • Up to $500 reimbursement for pet adoption fees or vaccinations
  • Technology stipend for equipment setup
  • Professional development opportunities
