Job Summary

The ServiceNow Lead Developer provides technical leadership for the design, development, implementation, and support of the Firm's ServiceNow platform. This role partners with business stakeholders, IT teams, the ServiceNow Administrator, and third-party development partners to deliver secure, scalable, and maintainable solutions while establishing development standards, platform governance, and ServiceNow best practices.

Duties and Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

  • Serve as technical lead for the ServiceNow platform, establishing development standards, best practices, and platform governance.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the ServiceNow Administrator, including configuration, troubleshooting, operational support, and platform enhancements.
  • Provide technical direction for ServiceNow initiatives and ensure solutions align with the Firm's platform strategy, security requirements, and architectural standards.
  • Promote platform stability and maintainability by managing technical debt and minimizing unnecessary customization.

Platform Development and Operations

  • Design, develop, configure, and maintain ServiceNow applications, workflows, integrations, and platform capabilities using ServiceNow development tools and technologies.
  • Build and maintain integrations between ServiceNow and enterprise systems using APIs and other integration technologies.
  • Support the full development lifecycle, including requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, documentation, upgrades, and ongoing support.
  • Conduct code and solution reviews to ensure quality, security, maintainability, and adherence to Firm and ServiceNow standards.
  • Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex platform issues and identify opportunities to improve platform performance, reliability, and user experience.
  • Leverage approved AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity, solution delivery, and code quality while ensuring appropriate review and compliance with Firm standards.

Vendor & Partner Management

  • Serve as the primary technical liaison with third-party ServiceNow development partners.
  • Review vendor designs, estimates, implementation approaches, and deliverables for quality and adherence to Firm standards.
  • Coordinate internal and vendor development activities, monitoring delivery, performance, service expectations, documentation, and knowledge transfer.

Documentation & Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain technical documentation, including solution designs, integrations, development standards, and operational procedures.
  • Stay current with ServiceNow releases, capabilities, and industry best practices and recommend new capabilities based on business value and technical fit.
  • Identify opportunities to improve business processes, platform usability, self-service, and automation, including the responsible use of ServiceNow AI capabilities.

General Responsibilities

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
  • 5+ years of ServiceNow development experience, including technical leadership responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, developing, and supporting enterprise solutions on the ServiceNow platform.
  • Strong knowledge of ServiceNow development technologies, APIs, integrations, and SaaS technologies.
  • Experience with ITSM, Service Catalog, Flow Designer, App Engine, integrations, dashboards, and reporting.
  • Experience establishing development standards and performing code and solution reviews.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA).
  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD).
  • Experience with Integration Hub and App Engine Studio.
  • Experience with PowerShell or other scripting languages.

For New York, the expected salary range for this position is between $190,250 and $221,812.  This position is also eligible for annual bonuses .   The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.

For Chicago, the expected salary range for this position is between $174,250 and $203,175.  This position is also eligible for annual bonuses.   The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
