In recent years, Double Good has seen 40% year over year growth, and we’re excited about our future! We’re excited about the possibility of you joining our mission. We are looking for a Shipping Supervisor for our 1st shift to join our growing Supply Chain team.

Location - Onsite at our Elmhurst Distribution Center

About the role:

A shipping supervisor supports the day-to-day operations of a shipping department, ensuring the accurate and timely fulfillment of outgoing customer orders. This role will be responsible for managing a team of shipping personnel, coordinating with other departments, maintaining accurate inventory levels, and resolving any issues that may arise during the shipping process while adhering to company policies and safety regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervising staff: Scheduling labor, time & attendance, payroll, assigning tasks, helping to train new employees, evaluating performance, and addressing employee relations issues within the shipping team. This includes supporting the coordinator with managing temp labor and helping to serve as a backfill for the manager when necessary.
  • Order processing: Leveraging current ERP system (Microsoft D365) when checking for order accuracy, prioritizing shipments, and ensuring proper labeling and documentation.
  • Inventory management: Monitoring stock levels, identifying potential shortages, and coordinating with material handling and purchasing to maintain adequate inventory.
  • Shipping operations: Overseeing packing procedures, loading and unloading of trucks in conjunction with the material handling team, communicating with carriers, and coordinating materials to the lines.
  • Quality control: Inspecting packages for accuracy, proper presentation and damages before shipment, escalating quality and equipment issues accordingly.
  • Compliance: Ensuring adherence to shipping regulations, safety protocols, and company policies.
  • Continuous Improvement: Support CI initiatives, serving as an active participant and change champion in planned Kaizen events.
  • Performance metrics: Tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) such as shipping time, downtime, accuracy, labor and cost to identify areas for improvement. 

Experience & Skills we value:

  • At least 3-5 years of experience in a warehouse or fulfillment operation, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role
  • Demonstrated ability in leading and managing a team, assigning tasks, providing training, running team meetings and addressing performance issues.
  • Hands-on experience in various warehouse functions like receiving, picking, packing, order management and shipping.
  • Familiarity with an ERP system, warehouse management systems (WMS) or other relevant software to track inventory and manage orders.
  • Proficiency in using payroll software
  • High level of accuracy in ensuring correct product quantities and shipping details.
  • Effective communication with other departments, carriers, and team members to coordinate shipments and resolve issues. 

Additional Requirements

  • Successful completion of pre-employment background check and drug screening

Nice to have and/or you’ll learn: 

  • Bilingual (Spanish)
  • Prior experience working with Microsoft Dynamics (D365)
  • Osha certified 
  • Experience in a performance-based environment (lean, six sigma, TPS)
  • Forklift certification

Base Pay range for this position:

  • $50,000 - $70,000
  • Target Annual Bonus: 15% of base salary

The final discretionary compensation that will be offered for this role depends on a variety of factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location.
