The summary above was generated by AI

American factories deserve a supply chain that moves as fast as they do. The next generation of American manufacturing is being built right now. Nox Metals is the supply chain behind it.

We use software and automation to supply metal to American factories faster than the industry thought possible.

Nox Metals went thru YC Summer 2025.

Software Engineer Intern

This is a real software engineering internship. You will own meaningful projects from design to deployment, and the code you write will run on the factory floor. No coffee runs, no shadowing. Your work ships to production and controls how real metal gets cut on real machines.

You will:

  • Design, build, test, and ship features across the systems that run our factory, from the floor command center to the nesting engine to the customer portal

  • Write code that deploys to the floor and controls how metal gets cut, tracked, and delivered

  • Debug, profile, and harden production systems that cannot go down in the middle of a shift

  • Sit next to the engineers and operators running the machines and watch your software hit the real world the same day you ship it

  • Take big problems off senior engineers' plates and own them end to end

You should be:

  • Pursuing a degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field, or able to prove you can build without one

  • Strong in data structures, algorithms, and at least one language (Python, TypeScript, Go, C++, whatever you reach for)

  • Comfortable with Git and the basics of how web and distributed systems work

  • Fast, organized, and high agency, able to take a big item and run it down alone while asking for help when you need it

  • Cracked with AI tools and always hunting for a faster way to do the work

  • Low ego, customer obsessed, and never the person who says "that's not my job"

  • Willing to work outside normal hours when the floor needs it

Our stack: Python, TypeScript, React, Next.js, Node.js, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, Docker, and AWS. You will not know all of it. We will teach you what you do not.

This role is full time, in person in Detroit. We are open to in person Windsor or Remote.
