Your role:

The Sr. Manager Digital Enterprise Product Owner is responsible for translating product and clinical intent into clear, executable, and compliant backlog items that enable predictable delivery by R&D Engineering teams. Operating in close partnership with Product Management, Engineering, and Quality, this role ensures that digital product capabilities are well-defined, technically grounded, testable, and aligned with regulatory and architectural expectations.

As a member of the Digital Product Ownership team, this role contributes to enterprise consistency in backlog quality, sprint readiness, and PI execution while maintaining deep ownership of one or more digital product areas or platforms.

What you’ll be doing:

Product Ownership & Backlog Excellence

  • Own and maintain a well-structured, prioritized product backlog aligned to product strategy, PI objectives, and architectural constraints.

  • Product Ownership focus for role enables Therapy Services and Intelligence platforms.  Therapy Services provides continuous monitoring and support for patients on treatment. Using data from connected medical devices, Vantive clinicians (like nurses) proactively check on patients, help troubleshoot issues, and work with care teams to keep treatment on track.  Intelligence platforms focus on empowering patients or clinicians with insights for improved therapy experiences.

  • Ensure backlog items are:

    • Clinically grounded

    • Technically explicit

    • Testable with clear acceptance criteria

    • Compliant with applicable regulatory and quality standards (e.g., FDA, CE, privacy, security) 

  • Decompose epics and features into executable user stories that enable predictable sprint execution

Sprint & PI Readiness

  • Partner with Engineering to ensure technical readiness for sprint and PI execution

  • Identify, surface, and manage engineering dependencies across teams and platforms

  • Lead PI planning, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and reviews with high-quality inputs and clear intent. Ensure strong alignment between PI objectives, sprint commitments, and delivery outcomes.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Act as the primary execution partner to Product Management, translating product vision and roadmap intent into delivery-ready definitions. Exercise strong design decision authority aiding in improved product outcomes.

  • Collaborate with Architecture to ensure backlog decisions align with system design and long-term technical direction.

  • Embedded within the agile/scrum team execution operating mechanisms. Partner with Quality and Regulatory stakeholders to ensure traceability, documentation, and verification readiness. Accountable to a relevant set of DHF deliverables, defined by product.

  • Communicate tradeoffs clearly across product, engineering, and quality partners.

Quality, Compliance & Continuous Improvement

  • Enable reliable verification and validation activities through high-quality requirement definitions

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of product ownership practices, backlog hygiene, and delivery predictability

What you’ll bring:

  • 10+ years of experience in digital product development roles, including Product Owner, Technical Product Owner, or similar experience working in regulated software or digital health environments strongly preferred

  • Hands-on experience supporting Agile and PI-based delivery models

  • Strong ability to translate complex product, clinical, and technical requirements into clear, actionable backlog items

  • Solid understanding of:

    • Software development lifecycles

    • Agile and scaled delivery frameworks

    • Technical concepts and systems thinking

    • Regulated development and quality expectations

  • Ability to confidently articulate priorities and tradeoffs with engineering and product leaders

  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills in matrixed, global environments

Success in This Role Looks Like

  • Engineering teams consistently start sprints with clear, executable, and testable backlog items

  • Fewer downstream defects and rework due to strong upfront clarity

  • Predictable delivery aligned to PI commitments

  • Strong trust and partnership with Product Management, Engineering, Quality, and Architecture

  • Demonstrated adherence to and reinforcement of enterprise product ownership standards set by the function leader

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Vantive, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $168,000 to $201,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
