Job Description

This role is an opportunity for an experienced writer with a strategic mindset to manage executive and CEO communications. The team member will join the Employee Communications team, based in Motorola Solutions’ Chicago headquarters, and report to the director of Employee Communications.

Scope Of Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, translating complex business priorities into clear, compelling narratives.

  • Deliver high-impact executive communications, including written announcements, thought leadership and targeted messaging for internal and external channels.

  • Shape the executive content, scripts and positioning for global town halls, keynotes and high-profile leadership events.

  • Manage the CEO’s narrative across corporate social channels, partnering with social media and external communications teams to elevate key company moments. 

  • Lead communications for key structural updates, organization shifts and strategic leadership announcements in close partnership with senior leadership and HR. 

  • Spearhead the annual development, cross-stakeholder project management and delivery of the company’s corporate responsibility report to highlight business impact and commitments.

  • Direct daily media monitoring to maintain a continuous pulse on industry trends, business sentiment and market developments, using these insights to brief leadership and inform messaging.

Specific Knowledge And Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, English or a related field.

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in executive communications, corporate communications or internal communications.

  • Direct experience partnering with C-suite executives or a CEO on communications.

  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with deep expertise in applying the AP Style Guide and corporate brand standards to high-level executive voices.

  • Strong executive presence, and the ability to maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders at all levels of the company.

  • Comfortable working under tight deadlines, managing multiple projects simultaneously and adjusting as circumstances change. 

  • Serious commitment to excellence, quality and attention to detail.

Target Base Salary Range: $120,000 - $130,000 USD

Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate. 


Basic Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years of progressive experience in executive communications, corporate communications or internal communications.

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position. (GC/CITIZEN ONLY)
