Job Summary:

We're hiring a Senior Product Manager to own the roadmap for Braintree's mobile SDKs on iOS and Android. You'll work closely with merchants and developers from solo sellers to enterprise Braintree teams to deeply understand where mobile integration experiences fall short and where opportunities exist.
You'll track mobile trends, developer frameworks, and how our SDKs compare to the market. You'll drive decisions through real A/B testing and ensure full instrumentation to trace the merchant journey from SDK integration through backend processing.
As developer behavior shifts toward AI coding assistants and LLMs, you'll stay ahead of how these tools interact with our SDKs, ensuring our documentation and tooling evolve accordingly.
Day-to-day, you'll own standups, sprint planning, and roadmap sessions while partnering closely with engineering and contributing to cross-functional initiatives.

Job Description:

Essential Responsibilities:

• Uses data to build insights on product or platform requirements consistent with the shared vision for the product.
• Gathers insights from the customer experience and customer needs to input to product requirements
• Analyzes research, market analysis and usability studies, research and market analysis to support data-driven decision making
• Monitors product profitability measures, including budget.
• Lead sprint planning, daily standups and retrospectives to drive execution. Interfaces with product and technology leadership as needed.
• Partners with content developers, data scientists, product designers and user experience researchers to identify new opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 3+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Strong experience with JIRA/Confluence.
• 5 years of Mobile (iOS/Swift and Android/Kotlin) product management experience.
• Working experience with SQL and data visualization tools (Tableau/Microsoft Excel/Power BI/DataViz).
• Nice to have: Mobile SDK (as opposed to app) experience specifically.
• Nice to have: API experience.
• Nice to have hands-on familiarity with how LLMs and AI coding assistants are changing developer integration,e.g. Model Context Protocol (MCP), context/plugin patterns, or AI-assisted documentation

Additional Responsibilities:

• Own the product strategy and roadmap for Braintree's iOS and Android SDKs
• Maintain and manage Jira project timelines.
• Keep epics healthy, up to date, and clearly scoped to ensure the team stays aligned and on track toward delivery milestones.
• Partner closely with engineering and developer relations to prioritize features, drive SDK releases, and keep the developer experience strong.
• Write and maintain integration guides and developer documentation - External and internal documentation.
• Make sure our documentation works for humans and for the AI coding agents reading it, too. That means writing in Markdown, structuring content so an LLM can find and cite the right information, and helping build out MCP servers so agents can pull accurate context directly rather than hallucinating it.
• Keep track of how developers are actually using AI coding assistants and LLMs to integrate our SDKs, and how quickly frontier model capabilities are advancing, so we're building for where integration is headed, not just where it's been.
• Gather and synthesize feedback from merchants, partners, and internal stakeholders to identify gaps and opportunities across payment methods (local payment methods, etc.).
• Define and track success metrics around SDK adoption, integration health, and related metrics (work in progress).
• Stay current on mobile platform changes (iOS/Android OS updates, app store policies) and proactively ensure SDK compatibility and compliance.
• Collaborate with internal product managers across workstreams to evaluate, prioritize, and shepherd cross-functional asks.
• Help prioritize work across the mobile SDK roadmap and drive major SDK version releases.
• Own go-to-market for what you ship: not just announcing new features, but building the actual launch plan, lining up docs, sample code, and enablement content, briefing sales and support so they can speak to it, and tracking whether it actually moves adoption after launch

The base pay for this role will depend on where you work and the relevant experience and expertise you bring. The expected range of pay for this role by location is:

San Jose, California: ($143,500.00 - $212,850.00 Annually)

Additional Location(s) | Pay Range:

Chicago, Illinois: ($130,500.00 - $193,600.00 Annually) Austin, Texas: ($130,500.00 - $193,600.00 Annually) Additional compensation for this role may include an annual performance bonus, equity, or other incentive compensation, as applicable.
