Housekeeping Supervisor

Job Summary:

  • Assist housekeeping manager/executive housekeeping in daily operations, maintaining overall cleanliness of the hotel, including guest rooms and public area. Ensure guests are satisfied with cleanliness of room, respond to guest needs, ensure safety and security of rooms, maintain inventories and cost control, selecting, training, maintaining, and managing a skilled team. Establish a friendly atmosphere of superior guest service and product quality.

Responsibility/Duties:

  • Ensure proper scheduling daily for operational needs
  • Maintain brand standards for both guest rooms and public areas, inspecting them to ensure all standards are met
  • Train staff in all aspects of housekeeping, including guest service
  • Check all VIP arrival rooms, ready prior to 3pm
  • Check employee time punches
  • Coach and counsel Housekeeping Team to meet expectations/ Document employees
  • Inspections of rooms and guest areas
  • Communicate with Executive Housekeeping Manager and Executive Housekeeping Assistant.
  • Ensure all employees have all supplies needed to complete tasks
  • Interview prospective employees
  • Run pre-shift meetings, communicating daily events to staff

  • Inspection sheets
  • Guest surveys
  • Documentation 
  • HR reports (accident reports, etc.) as needed 
  • Training sign off sheets as needed

Performance Measurement:

  • Attendance
  • Guest satisfaction surveys
  • Incentives
  • Hotel manager satisfaction
  • Scheduling to decrease/stop overtime
  • Training sheets

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma
  • 2 years' experience in hotel industry
  • Computer proficient (Microsoft office, time keeping systems)
  • Bi-lingual
  • Ability to work flexible schedule, including holidays and weekends
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Attention to detail
  • Good attitude
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and use stairs throughout duration of shift
