The Aspen Group (TAG) is one of the largest and most trusted retail healthcare business support organizations in the U.S., supporting over 23,000 healthcare professionals and team members at more than 1,150 locations across 48 states. Our five supported healthcare practices operate under the brands Aspen Dental, ClearChoice, WellNow, Chapter Aesthetic Studio, and Lovet. We’re committed to enabling healthcare professionals to focus on patient care while we handle the business operations that support them.

We are seeking a Supply Chain Intelligence & Enablement Leader.

The Supply Chain Intelligence & Enablement Leader will build and lead a next-generation procurement capability at TAG — transforming how the function operates through analytics, AI, process automation, and practical operating standards.

Reporting directly to the SVP of Supply Chain, this transformation leadership role will transform how we use data, predictive analytics, and artificial intelligence to drive business performance across our multi-brand healthcare organization. The leader will bring balance of vision, strategy and practical governance while embracing hands-on execution. The role will focus on delivering measurable value quickly while building scalable, sustainable capabilities over time.

This is a high-impact, enterprise-level role at the intersection of procurement, supply chain, systems, technology, and business strategy. The ideal candidate combines deep procurement theory with operational experience, strong analytical thinking, and a pragmatic, execution-oriented mindset.

Key Responsibilities

1. Function Transformation & Roadmap

  • Define and execute a practical, multi-year roadmap to modernize Supply Chain & Procurement capabilities across TAG at the enterprise level, and customized (where needed) to specific TAG brands
  • Evaluate current tools, processes, and operating model vs. best-in-class — and right-size solutions for a lean, founder-led environment
  • Prioritize high-impact, achievable initiatives that drive immediate value while building toward longer-term capability
  • Continuously monitor the technology landscape to assess priorities for adoption and continuous performance improvement and total tech stack overhead optimization

2. Analytics, Data & Value Creation

  • Build and own TAG’s spend analytics and insights engine
  • Develop actionable dashboards and reporting tied to:
  • Savings / EBITDA impact
  • Cost avoidance
  • Margin expansion
  • Operational efficiency
  • Translate data into clear, decision-driving insights, not just reporting
  • Establish a governed, scalable data foundation (spend cube, vendor data, taxonomy, etc.)

3. AI & Process Automation Enablement

  • Identify and deploy practical AI and automation use cases across procurement & supply chain workflows
  • Foster a grassroots culture of experimentation:
  • Enable team members to test and suggest tools
  • Scale what works across the function
  • Focus on real productivity gains, not theoretical AI strategies
  • Partner with IT and Legal to ensure secure, responsible deployment

4. Systems & Data Architecture (Pragmatic, Not Overbuilt)

  • Assess and evolve the procurement tech stack with a bias toward:
  • Simplicity
  • Integration
  • ROI
  • Avoid over-engineered solutions that slow execution
  • Ensure effective integration with enterprise systems (e.g., Workday)
  • Improve data accessibility and reduce manual effort through automation-first design

5. Operational Excellence & Standards

  • Build and maintain simple, high-impact standards and tools, including:
  • Category strategy templates
  • Sourcing playbooks
  • Pre-negotiation fact packs
  • Establish an operations excellence system:
  • Governance cadences
  • Performance tracking
  • Standard work
  • Drive consistency without bureaucracy

6. Procurement Operations Enablement (Dotted-Line Oversight)

  • Improve efficiency and effectiveness of procurement operations through:
  • Process design
  • Automation
  • System improvements
  • Ensure strong execution in:
  • Catalog and pricing management
  • Procure-to-Pay alignment with AP
  • Enable the team to scale without adding unnecessary complexity

7. Knowledge Management & Data Assets

  • Build structured, accessible repositories for:
  • Contracts
  • Sourcing history
  • Category strategies
  • Enable extraction of historical insights to inform future sourcing and negotiation strategies
  • Improve vendor master data quality and governance

8. Team Leadership & Capability Building

  • Build and lead a tight-knit, high-impact team
  • Develop scalable training and capability-building programs
  • Elevate data literacy, analytical thinking, and AI fluency across the function

Who This Role Is For

This role is designed for a builder and operator, not a maintainer, not a pure consultant.

  • You’ve worked deeply in procurement / supply chain as a practitioner
  • You’ve spent time in consulting or transformation roles, bringing structured thinking and exposure to best practices
  • You understand what “great” looks like — but also how to adapt it pragmatically in a lean environment
  • You move comfortably between strategy and execution
  • Naturally curious, and love to get hands-on with AI use cases

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or sourcing
  • Demonstrated experience in transformation, operations excellence, or capability building
  • Hands-on experience with analytics, reporting, or data-driven decision-making
  • Experience implementing or improving procurement systems, tools, or workflows
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence senior stakeholders
  • Strong track record of delivering measurable value (savings, efficiency, productivity)

Preferred Background & Attributes

  • Experience in consulting or internal transformation roles (2–4+ years preferred)
  • Background in CPG, manufacturing, automotive, or other process-mature industries
  • Experience in a high accountability environment
  • Exposure to AI tools, automation platforms, or advanced analytics in a business context
  • (Note: deep technical expertise not required — practical application is)

What Sets You Apart

  • Pragmatic mindset — you balance “best practice” with what actually works
  • Builder mentality — you create, test, iterate, and improve quickly
  • Bias for action — you prioritize progress over perfection
  • Strong influencer — you bring people along, not impose process
  • Analytical, but decisive — you use data to act, not to stall
  • Low-ego, high-impact — you care more about outcomes than optics

Leadership Competencies

  • Strategic Agility – Sees the big picture while driving practical execution
  • Operational Excellence – Builds scalable, efficient, and repeatable processes
  • Influence & Change Leadership – Drives adoption across diverse stakeholders
  • Data-Driven Decision Making – Uses insights to prioritize and act
  • Talent Development – Builds capability across a lean team
  • Ownership & Accountability – Takes responsibility for outcomes, not just recommendations

Impact of the Role

Success in this role will result in:

  • A highly efficient, data-driven procurement function that consistently delivers measurable value
  • A scalable operating model enabled by automation and practical standards
  • Improved visibility and control over spend, suppliers, and performance
  • A culture of continuous improvement and experimentation, including AI adoption
  • Reduced manual work and increased productivity across the team
  • Stronger alignment between procurement, finance, operations, and leadership
  • A function that is respected as a strategic driver of EBITDA and operational performance, not just a support capability
