Candidates should be versatile, eager and able to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive financial and technical environment. To be eligible for this internship, applicants must be enrolled in a university or college program and should not be scheduled to graduate before December of the year in which the internship takes place. The Regulatory team is hiring for a Surveillance Analyst Intern:

An Internship with the Regulatory team is a unique opportunity from which Interns will gain valuable insight from their Cboe peers that will allow them to continue to develop their career skills and business knowledge. During your internship, you will be exposed to all areas of regulation:

  • Investigations

  • Surveillance

  • Cross Market Regulation

  • Regulatory Guidance

  • Enforcement

Your responsibilities and learning objectives will be:

  • Assist the regulatory staff with data analysis related to investigations or examinations of trading firm data

  • Gather data from trading firms when necessary to assist with data analysis. Respond to general inquiries from the firms.

  • Professionally interact with internal regulatory staff and external contacts (such as Self-Regulatory Organizations, trading permit holders, etc.)

  • Document findings in an organized and concise fashion; provide clearly written, detailed explanations of transaction activity.

  • Assist with file documentation management and file upload into FileNet.

  • Provide ad hoc support and perform other duties as assigned

  • Prioritize tasks and work assignments; complete multiple tasks simultaneously with accuracy and quality; adjust to changes in priorities and situations; complete work under pressure; meet deadlines

  • Organize and express ideas clearly and understandably when speaking to individuals or groups; listen to others and respond appropriately; use appropriate grammar and word choice

  • Evaluate, analyze, and summarize data and facts; establish logical connections; form sound decisions based on analysis

  • Interact in a professional manner with internal and external contacts; use tact and diplomacy; maintain confidentiality; appropriately handle and communicate controversial or sensitive information

The ideal candidate has:

  • Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Finance, Accounting, Forensic Accounting, Business Forensics, Economics, Data Analytics, or Business Administration or other related and should not be scheduled to graduate before December of the year in which the internship takes place.

  • Experience with expressing facts and ideas in writing in a clear, convincing and organized manner; prepare written summaries with clarity, completeness, and accuracy

Our pay range for interns is determined by function and education level. The national new hire base pay range for this job in the United States is $22.00 - $42.00 per hour.  This range represents the minimum and maximum base pay target for new hires working in the position full time.     

  

Within the range, individual pay is determined by years of education completed. In addition to base pay, eligibility for our total rewards program may include benefits such as 401 (k) with a generous company match and paid sick time. Your recruiter will provide more details about the total compensation package during the hiring process

We are in the loop in the Old Post Office building which has been redesigned into luxury office space with the biggest roof tops in Chicago. Our roof top features pickle ball courts, basketball court, walking path and dining lounging areas. We also have ample garage parking and a gym in our building. Our location is only 2 blocks from Union Station and the "L" train. Additionally, there are many dining options nearby.
