Job Description: 

The Talent Acquisition Specialist (Contract) will act as the incumbent within the recruitment team to help drive the vision and execution surrounding all aspects of the talent acquisition function.  This individual will provide content expertise for all company-wide staffing efforts, including processes, systems and tools. The role is accountable for managing specific staffing throughout North America.  This includes leading senior and strategic searches, and all hiring systems and processes for the company.  A critical accountability will center on developing strategies that differentiate the organization from the competition with a focus on new technologies including social recruiting, sourcing platforms, and candidate engagement. 

 

The key objectives of the role: 

  • Responsible for sourcing, attracting, selecting and hiring top talent in the market. 

  • Ensure that staffing needs are being met with a long-term strategy in mind 

  • Devise and implement sourcing strategies 

 

 

Position Accountabilities: 

Sourcing: 

  • Direct accountability for recruiting activities for specific roles at DAC.  

  • Drives recruitment activities and ensures strong performance on time to fill, cost per hire, and quality of candidates. 

  • Builds talent pipelines for critical and recurring roles.   

  • Works with Director P&C and Manager, Talent Acquisition to develop the recruitment strategy. This may include job posting optimization, recruiting marketing channel development, job board procurement, digital and non-digital employment marketing, comprehensive recruitment campaign planning, talent planning, etc.  

  • Communicate employee referral program for leads 

Candidate Experience/Employer Branding: 

  • Works with Director P&C and Manager, Talent Acquisition to assess current and future staffing needs against the business strategy and develop implementation of appropriate talent acquisition strategies & plans  

  • Leverages recruiting and selection processes & tools to drive efficiency, improve quality of hires, and ensure optimal candidate experience 

  • Ensures that a sound recruitment process is communicated to the hiring managers 

  • Develops and oversees innovative sourcing strategies to attract talent from non-traditional and/or diverse talent pools (ie tradeshow lists, niche networking sites, etc) 

  • In conjunction with the Director P&C, responsible for the development and evolution of the company’s employment branding strategy and tools.  

  • Actively participates in networking groups and other business and community programs to increase presence, network and skill knowledge.  

Analysis and Reporting: 

  • Defines, tracks and reports key hiring metrics for all positions.  

  • Compiles, analyzes, and utilizes data relating to recruiting, performance, and retention; works with Director P&C to identify opportunities to improve processes and procedures.  

Vendor Management: 

  • Manage all external staffing vendors and processes for resume/applicant submission.  

Other: 

  • Participates in various projects within the team to support the attraction of top talent 

  • Provides training to hiring managers on effective interviewing and recruitment practices for DAC 

  • Supports and adheres to DAC’s core values 

  • Other duties as assigned 

 

Preferred Requirements: 

  • Minimum of 2 years of full cycle recruitment experience. In-depth experience sourcing active and passive candidates including the use of social media, search engines and job boards.   

  • Knowledge of relevant employment laws within jurisdictions DAC operates.    

  • Excellent communication skills 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent  

  • Ability to build strong relationships at all levels and alignment to business priorities.   

  • Strong business acumen and ability to manage complexity   

  • Innovative, organized and results oriented   

  • Proven and effective project management skills   

  • Proven ability to influence and partner with senior level executives   

  • Ability to learn, administer, and train others on Applicant Tracking System technology   

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint)   

How We Work

This role requires three in-office days per week. Remote work is not available for this position.

Salary at DAC is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected total compensation range for this position is starting at $70,000 to $90,000.
