Job Description:

The Technical Program Manager (TPM) is a customer‑facing, cross‑functional leader responsible for owning and driving complex technical programs from pre‑contract engagement through initial implementation and handoff. The TPM acts as the central coordinator across account teams, customers, product management, engineering, test, services, and leadership to ensure technical commitments are validated, risks are managed, and outcomes are delivered predictably.

This role operates in a highly matrixed environment and succeeds through influence, structure, and execution rigor, rather than direct authority.

Key Responsibilities

End‑to‑End Program Ownership

  • Own customer programs from early engagement and solution alignment through initial implementation and operational handoff.
  • Translate customer requirements and business priorities into clear, actionable program plans and milestones.
  • Ensure continuity across presales, delivery, and operations.

Cross‑Functional Coordination & Influence

  • Serve as the central point of coordination between Account Managers, Sales Engineers, Product Management, Engineering, Test, Services, and leadership.
  • Align cross‑team dependencies, validate commitments, and drive timely decision‑making in a matrixed environment.
  • Facilitate productive conversations and resolve conflicts through data, structure, and influence.

Engagement Model, Intake & Prioritization

  • Define and operate structured intake, prioritization, and escalation frameworks to manage competing demands.
  • Ensure the right work is surfaced, sequenced, and resourced based on impact, feasibility, and customer priority.
  • Reduce ambiguity and reactive escalations through clear ownership and decision paths.

Program Health, Risk & Reporting

  • Provide clear, consistent visibility into program health, risks, dependencies, and capacity through structured reporting.
  • Identify issues early and drive mitigation plans to protect commitments and customer outcomes.
  • Communicate confidently with stakeholders at all levels, including executive leadership.

Tools, Data & Operational Excellence

  • Leverage and influence tooling (e.g., dashboards, intake systems, reporting platforms) to improve transparency and execution efficiency.
  • Partner with tooling and operations teams to identify gaps and drive continuous improvement.
  • Balance process rigor with speed, ensuring structure adds value rather than friction.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in Technical Program Management, Program Management, or equivalent technical delivery roles
  • Proven experience operating in customer‑facing, cross‑functional environments
  • Strong ability to influence without authority and drive outcomes in matrixed organizations
  • Excellent communication skills—written, verbal, and executive‑level
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting Cloud, Service Provider, or large enterprise customers
  • Background in presales, technical account management, or complex solution delivery
  • Familiarity with Agile, hybrid delivery models, and modern reporting dashboards
  • Experience working across product, engineering, and services organizations

What Success Looks Like

  • Customers and account teams trust TPM commitments and timelines
  • Cross‑functional teams are aligned, informed, and unblocked
  • Risks are surfaced early and addressed proactively
  • TPM engagement brings clarity, predictability, and momentum to complex programs
