The job: 

The Vice President, CBUSA Operations will serve as the strategic and operational leader of CBUSA, a division focused on strengthening buying power and operational efficiency for homebuilders nationwide. This role is accountable for driving CBUSA’s overall business strategy, member growth, vendor relationships, and operational excellence. The VP will ensure alignment between Buildertrend’s long-term vision and CBUSA’s business objectives, fostering sustainable growth, innovation, and customer satisfaction.

What you will do: 

  • Define and execute CBUSA's long-term strategy in alignment with Buildertrend's corporate goals, and own the P&L to ensure sustainable revenue and margin growth.

  • Develop annual operating plans, budgets and KPIs, partnering with Finance on forecasting and reporting to track performance.

  • Oversee day-to-day CBUSA operations, including purchasing programs, vendor partnerships, supply chain optimization and member services.

  • Build scalable processes and infrastructure that support member growth and vendor expansion.

  • Negotiate strategic vendor agreements that maximize purchasing power and deliver cost savings for members.

  • Strengthen relationships with CBUSA member builders and vendor partners to maximize value and retention.

  • Expand membership by building compelling value propositions and delivering measurable ROI.

  • Establish reporting dashboards and performance metrics that drive data-informed decisions and continuous improvement.

  • Identify and capitalize on new revenue streams, strategic partnerships and operational efficiencies.

  • Lead, mentor and develop the CBUSA Operations team, fostering a high-performance, collaborative culture that promotes diversity, inclusion and professional growth.

  • Represent CBUSA and Buildertrend at industry events and thought leadership forums, staying ahead of trends in construction supply chains and vendor management.

  • Embrace using AI as a tool to enhance your work, while remaining open to learning, applying critical thinking and owning the quality of your final work.

Who you are and what you need: 

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree a plus.

  • 10+ years of management experience required, including experience owning a P&L and driving revenue and margin growth.

  • Prefer experience in a group purchasing organization (GPO), vendor management or supply chain environment.

  • Experience in homebuilding, construction or a related industry.

  • Proven track record of negotiating national or strategic vendor agreements.

  • Experience scaling membership-based or subscription-style business models.

  • Experience building and leading distributed or remote teams.

  • Ability to travel approximately 50% of the time; valid driver's license required.

  • Strong analytical skills, with experience using data and dashboards to drive decisions.

  • Experience presenting to executive leadership and/or a board.

  • Excellent communication skills.
