We are seeking a skilled and experienced Head of Editorial and Thought Leadership to develop highly effective, brand-building content for J.P. Morgan Payments. As a key member of the global content team, you will build and deliver distinct content franchises through compelling, multi-channel, multimedia storytelling.

As the Vice President of Editorial and Thought Leadership, you will own and champion our thought leadership strategy—developing authoritative content that positions our brand as an industry leader. You will lead a team of storytellers and content strategists to create highly differentiated, compelling content programs and ensure consistent messaging across all marketing channels and touchpoints. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to align work to key initiatives and marketing objectives, delivering best-in-class content programs that allow our brand to make meaningful connections with audiences. You are a leader who pairs mastery of storytelling with strategic rigor—someone energized by building content that stands out, drives emotional connection and credibility, and delivers measurable impact.

Job Responsibilities
  • Set and own the thought leadership strategy for Payments, ensuring content programs are aligned to business priorities, tailored to audience needs, and consistent across the editorial ecosystem.
  • Build and run an integrated content roadmap and pipeline (signature themes, distinct franchises, commissioning, production, distribution).
  • Lead editorial planning and calendars, ensuring clear prioritization, stakeholder alignment across products, regions, and sales, and timely delivery.
  • Define category-leading themes and narratives that are differentiated in a crowded market.
  • Oversee end-to-end content development (including concepting, writing/editing, data-led storytelling, video, podcasts, and long-form content) with high creative standards. Deliver with newsroom precision, speed, and agility.
  • Partner cross-functionally (product, sales, regions, and channel owners) to deliver the thought leadership roadmap, with clear alignment to—and support for—GTM and campaigns across integrated channels (owned, earned, paid, social/digital, SEO/GEO, communications/media, influencers/advocates, and sales enablement).
  • Drive the digital/channel evolution of content priorities (e.g., microsites, content hubs, newsroom) to create a unified client journey and maximum impact.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team accountable for editorial program delivery.
  • Manage agency and partner relationships, and provide editorial direction to internal teams and external partners to advance narratives and ensure content cohesion.
  • Leverage audience research, competitive benchmarking, creative testing, and performance insights to continuously optimize topics, formats, and channel strategy.
  • Apply AI tools and principles thoughtfully to scale and accelerate production without compromising quality, depth, or brand voice.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism, or equivalent.
  • 8+ years of progressive leadership experience in editorial, financial journalism, content strategy, or brand roles, including demonstrated success leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • At least 3 years of experience managing creative agency relationships, writers, editors, content creators, strategists, and channel experts.
  • Deep expertise in editorial, storytelling, messaging, and multi-channel campaign and program development.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to use storytelling to influence decisions, foster collaborative relationships, and effectively partner across teams, functions, and levels.
  • High level of creative thinking and problem-solving, bringing a diverse perspective that makes content stand out.
  • Ability to translate complex financial topics into clear, engaging storytelling that builds credibility and resonates with target audiences.
  • High judgment and comfort taking calculated creative risks to differentiate content and strengthen market presence.
  • A diverse portfolio demonstrating brand- and audience-led editorial work is required.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills
  • Experience with project management and production tools (Office, Teams, Copilot, Acrobat, Workfront, and AI tools that support content scaling/personalization).
  • Familiarity with using AI tools to accelerate research, creative testing, and content personalization, while applying strong governance and human editorial judgment.
  • Ability to create crisp, executive-ready presentations to align senior leadership on program plans and socialize key initiatives—translating work into clear narratives, decisions, and actions.

Please note: Writing samples will be required if selected for an interview.
