Title: Vice President, Marketing

Reports to: Chief Commercial Officer

Location: West Coast Remote
Travel: Approximately 25–40%

Summary

We are seeking an experienced, strategic Vice President, Marketing to lead the development and execution of the company’s commercial marketing strategy as we prepare for and progress through product launch and subsequent indication expansion.


The VP, Marketing will own marketing strategy across the product lifecycle, including launch planning, positioning, segmentation, customer strategy, market development, promotional strategy, and lifecycle expansion across multiple indications.  This leader will work closely with Sales, Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Lifecycle Leadership, Market Access, Regulatory, Commercial Operations and senior leadership to translate clinical and market insights into differentiated commercial strategies for multi-specialty HCPs and patients.


The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution and has demonstrated success taking innovative therapies from late-stage development through commercialization, leveraging integrated omnichannel strategies to engage HCPs and patients.

Responsibilities

  • Own the commercial marketing strategy for the company’s CAR-T portfolio across current and future autoimmune indications.
  • Develop and lead the overall marketing strategy and commercial vision, establishing the strategic foundation, capabilities, infrastructure, and organizational readiness
  • Define launch objectives, customer priorities, brand positioning, messaging, channel strategy, unbranded education, promotional approach, and measurement.
  • Translate clinical data, market research, competitive intelligence, and customer insights into actionable marketing strategies.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the patient journey, referral ecosystem, treatment pathways, and barriers to adoption across autoimmune diseases.
  • Lead the marketing organization through the company’s first product launch and establish a repeatable launch model for subsequent indications, expansion and products.
  • Establish launch performance metrics and continuously evaluate market feedback, customer behavior, competitive activity, and emerging data to optimize strategy.
  • Develop post-launch strategies that accelerate adoption, strengthen customer relationships, and maximize the value of each indication.
  • Establish differentiated strategies as the product expands into additional patient populations or disease settings.
  • Partner with Clinical Development and Medical Affairs to incorporate emerging clinical data and external insights into lifecycle planning.
  • Identify opportunities to maximize the commercial potential of the portfolio throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Establish a robust customer and market insights capability to understand HCP, patient, caregiver, and other stakeholder needs.
  • Partner with Commercial Operations to leverage market research, segmentation, competitive intelligence, forecasting, and opportunity assessment.
  • Ensure customer insights meaningfully influence brand and portfolio strategy.
  • Serve as a key commercial partner to Clinical Development and Medical Affairs in translating scientific differentiation into compelling market strategies.
  • Partner with Market Access to incorporate payer and value considerations into brand strategy.
  • Work closely with Sales leadership to translate strategy into effective field execution.
  • Partner with Regulatory and Legal/Compliance to ensure marketing strategies and materials are appropriately developed and reviewed.
  • Provide commercial perspectives to senior leadership and the executive team.
  • Build and lead a high-performing marketing organization appropriate to the company’s stage and launch requirements.
  • Determine the capabilities, talent, agency partnerships, and infrastructure required to support commercialization.
  • Establish clear objectives, operating processes, and performance metrics for the marketing organization.
  • Develop a culture of accountability, strategic thinking, collaboration, and agile execution. 

Qualifications

    • 15+ years of progressive experience in biopharmaceutical commercial/marketing roles, with significant experience in specialty, rare disease, hematology, immunology, or other complex therapeutic markets.
    • Demonstrated experience personally leading at a successful U.S. product launch from pre-launch through commercialization.
    • Experience developing commercialization strategies for innovative therapies, preferably CAR-T, cell therapy, gene therapy, or other highly specialized treatments.
    • Proven experience developing multi-indication and lifecycle strategies for a pharmaceutical or biotechnology asset.
    • Experience building or significantly transforming a marketing organization in a growth-stage or emerging biotech environment.
    • Strong understanding of commercialization, brand strategy, market development, customer segmentation, personal and digital engagement, market research, forecasting, and promotional strategy.
    • Demonstrated ability to translate complex clinical/scientific data into differentiated commercial positioning.
    • Experience working effectively across Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Market Access, Regulatory, Sales, and executive leadership.
    • Demonstrated understanding of the complex treatment, referral, reimbursement, and healthcare-provider ecosystem associated with specialty and cell therapies.
    • Strong understanding of the unique challenges associated with launching innovative or highly specialized therapies.
    • Exceptional strategic thinking combined with the ability and willingness to personally drive execution.
    • Exceptional communication and executive presence, with the ability to influence senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
    • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with evolving priorities.

The national salary range for this position is $320K to $350K USD annually.  The salary range is an estimate of what we reasonably expect to pay for this position, and the actual salary may vary based on various factors, including without limitation individual education, experience, tenure, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.  This position is also eligible for bonus, benefits, and participation in Company’s stock plan.
