Provides VistA/MUMPS application sustainment and Tier 2/Tier 3 production support. Troubleshoots incidents and defects, performs root cause analysis, develops remediation plans, and supports testing, validation, release readiness, deployment planning, and post-release monitoring. Collaborates with technical teams, product owners, release managers, operations personnel, and government stakeholders while improving sustainment processes and supporting legacy modernization.
Key Skillset & Experience Required:
- Strong hands-on experience with VistA application sustainment, operations, maintenance, or modernization
- Strong MUMPS programming experience and understanding of VistA technical architecture
- Experience with VistA routines, globals, FileMan, data dictionaries, cross-references, and package dependencies
- Experience troubleshooting and resolving production defects, incidents, service requests, and production issues
- Tier 2/Tier 3 production support, ticket triage, escalation, workaround identification, and resolution planning
- Strong Root Cause Analysis (RCA) skills across code, data, configuration, workflow, interfaces, and environments
- Experience with defect management and developing/reviewing resolution and remediation plans
- Experience supporting testing, validation, release readiness, deployment planning, and post-release monitoring
- DevOps – 2–5 years required
- Ability to collaborate with developers, testers, product owners, release managers, operations teams, and government stakeholders
- Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
Preferred Experience:
- Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) systems or federal healthcare platforms
- VA product-line delivery models and federal sustainment practices
- Agile, DevSecOps, and federal compliance requirements
- Monitoring, RCA reporting, data correction, table maintenance, backlog management, defect prevention, or legacy system modernization
- Knowledge transfer and sustainment process improvement
