Lead the development and execution of the enterprise-wide safety strategy, ensuring compliance, risk mitigation, and culture of safety excellence across all business units globally.
As the VP - Global Safety, you will be responsible for leading the development and execution of the enterprise-wide safety strategy to ensure the protection of employees, contractors, and visitors across all business units. You will be accountable for driving a culture of safety excellence, ensuring regulatory compliance, mitigating operational risk, and embedding safety into the company, specifically focusing on frontline execution.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a team responsible for safety performance across all business units
- Responsible for developing and executing global safety strategy in collaboration with business leaders
- Establish governance, policies, and standards to be used to drive safe behaviors and a culture of safety
- Ensure all equipment, facilities and initiatives have safety as a design element
- Ensure OSHA and global compliance
- Lead audits and investigations
- Drive culture of accountability and engagement with business leaders
- Establish KPIs and reporting for senior leaders
- Maintain safety compliance reporting across 50+ countries
- Deploy enterprise safety technology
- Partner with HR, Legal and Risk Management
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree - Safety, Environment Health & Safety or Engineering or related field required
- Masters Degree - Safety, Environment Health & Safety or MBA preferred
- Licenses/Certificates/Designations: CSP, ASP, CHMM preferred
- 15 years working in a safety leadership role
- 8 years leading a multi-site and / or global organization
- Experience presenting to the Executive Leadership and Board of Directors
- Demonstrated expertise in OSHA and global safety regulations
- Experience standing up a global health and safety program in a distribution industry preferred
- Ability to travel 25% - 50%
