Our Field Operations team is responsible for building, upgrading, maintaining and connecting customers to our advanced, always on, fiber powered network.
VP, Field Engineering - Great Lakes Region
(Note: This position is based in Hudson, OH with frequent travel throughout Ohio, Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin)
The Vice President Field Engineering is responsible for ensuring the reliability of Spectrum's fiber broadband access network. The VP directs regional efforts for network upgrades, preventative maintenance, repairs, outage reduction and other efforts to meet Spectrum's customer commitments for reliable connectivity.
  • Implements and enhances consistent practices to ensure network health throughout the Region
  • Oversees Regional programs for demand and scheduled maintenance
  • Responsible for Regional adherence with company network engineering design standards including amplifier cascades, bandwidth migration and management
  • Works with Inside Plant (ISP) team on network upgrades, hub collapses, outages and other projects and initiatives requiring coordination between ISP and outside plant
  • Consults with Corporate Field Engineering and Network Technology Services (NTS) on strategic planning of rebuilds and system extensions and upgrades
  • Plans needs for third party resources for plant upgrades and repair
  • Represents the Region in operational reviews in connection with all Regional engineering initiatives
  • Responsible for Regional compliance with Federal Communications Commission and other federal and state regulatory network requirements
  • Oversees Regional disaster recovery efforts.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO SPECTRUM
  • Experience: Experience working and leading the field construction/engineering and/or network and maintenance functions in the cable/communication business (10+years), management of annual budget preparation and implementation (8 years), senior level management experience (10+years)
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent field experience; SCTE/BCTE certification or equivalent field experience
  • Industry and vendor specific certifications and training Advanced Knowledge of HFC, Advanced Video, and IP Networks
  • Knowledge of all FCC compliance reports and other rules and regulations, a comprehensive understanding of applicable local and state rules and regulations; Comprehensive understanding of OSHA rules and regulations, both federal and state;
  • Comprehensive understanding of HVAC and power distribution systems; Advanced knowledge of Digital Transmission;
  • Advanced knowledge of Electronic theory Advanced knowledge of Federal Communications Commission regulations;
  • Advanced knowledge of Fiber Optic theory; Knowledge of National Electric Code and National Electric Safety Code

The base pay for this position generally is between
$158,500.00 and $263,900.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
