Founded by former Workday clients, we value partnership and engagement as a cornerstone of our business. With years of functional and technical experience in all phases of Workday's deployment life cycle, we can determine the most efficient integration designs and rapid deployment strategies. We develop maintainable solutions and provide support for integration testing and updates for new Workday releases.

We are seeking a Workday Global Payroll Consultant to support the design and deployment of international payroll solutions leveraging third-party providers such as ADP, CloudPay, and other global payroll platforms. This role is responsible for ensuring seamless alignment between Workday HCM and external payroll systems, enabling accurate, compliant, and efficient payroll processing across multiple countries. This is not a traditional Workday Payroll role where payroll is fully processed within Workday. Instead, this role focuses on configuring Workday to enable and integrate with third-party payroll providers, ensuring that payroll inputs, outputs, and processes are correctly designed and executed across systems. This position sits at the intersection of functional design, payroll operations, and integration alignment, playing a critical role in global Workday deployments.

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as the functional lead for global payroll design, defining how Workday supports payroll processing through third-party providers
  • Translate business requirements into end-to-end payroll process designs spanning Workday and external payroll systems
  • Configure Workday Payroll components where required to support third-party payroll models, including:
    • Payroll inputs and outputs
    • Pay groups and payroll calendars
    • Earning and deduction structures aligned to vendor requirements
    • Data structures supporting outbound and inbound integrations
  • Define and document:
    • Payroll data flows (Workday → vendor → Workday)
    • Country-specific payroll considerations and dependencies
    • Roles and responsibilities across HR, Payroll, and vendor teams
  • Partner with integration teams to ensure interfaces are designed and built in alignment with payroll requirements, including:
    • Worker and organizational data exports
    • Compensation, benefits, and time data feeds
    • Payroll results inbound integrations
  • Collaborate directly with global payroll vendors (ADP, CloudPay, etc.) to align on:
    • File specifications and data mapping
    • Payroll calendars and cutoffs
    • Data validation and processing expectations
  • Support global payroll testing cycles, including:
    • Parallel payroll testing
    • Payroll input/output validation
    • Issue triage across Workday, integration, and vendor teams
  • Identify and resolve gaps between Workday configuration and vendor payroll requirements
  • Advise clients on global payroll operating model decisions, including:
    • Centralized vs decentralized payroll
    • Standardization vs localization
    • Governance and ownership across regions
  • Provide post-go-live support, helping stabilize payroll operations and optimize integrations
  • Contribute to development of global payroll accelerators, templates, and best practices

What Makes You Successful

  • You understand how payroll operates across multiple countries, not just within a single system
  • You can connect Workday data structures to real payroll inputs and outputs
  • You’re comfortable working across HR, Payroll, Integration teams, and external vendors
  • You bring structure and clarity to complex, multi-country payroll environments

Qualifications

  • 5–10+ years of experience in global payroll, HCM consulting, or payroll transformation initiatives
  • Hands-on experience supporting Workday deployments integrated with third-party payroll providers (e.g., ADP GlobalView, ADP Celergo, CloudPay, Safeguard, etc.)
  • Experience configuring Workday Payroll components in support of third-party payroll integrations (not full in-country payroll processing)
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Payroll inputs, outputs, and data dependencies
    • Payroll calendars, cutoffs, and processing cycles
    • Multi-country payroll considerations
  • Experience working with:
    • Global payroll vendors and service providers
    • Integration teams (functional collaboration, not development)
    • Data mapping and payroll file validation
  • Experience supporting:
    • Payroll testing (parallel runs, reconciliation)
    • Multi-country or global deployments
  • Strong client-facing communication skills and ability to manage multiple stakeholders

Preferred

  • Experience with ADP GlobalView, ADP Celergo, CloudPay, or similar platforms
  • Workday HCM or Payroll certification
  • Experience supporting global Workday deployments across multiple regions
  • Understanding of integration concepts (e.g., EIB, PECI) without being a technical developer
