Illinois-based Discover is kicking off a hiring spree with plans to bring 150 jobs to the Windy City and hire at least 75 of new employees in the coming year.

On Monday, Discover announced that it will be expanding its downtown Chicago office called 606 and launch a new program intended to scale the company’s local presence.

The Advanced Analytics Resource Center (AARC@606) program is set to be a career development program for new hires. It will rotate employees to different departments and projects within the company and eventually employees will choose an area to specialize in. From there, they will be assigned a permanent role in that department.

“Our data and analytics teams are always looking for outstanding technical talent with diverse backgrounds to join Discover,” Keith Toney, executive vice president and chief data and analytics officer at Discover, said in a statement. “We want early-in-career employees who are just joining the workforce to gain experience in different areas, find what they are most passionate about and grow their capabilities and careers at Discover.”

Discover welcomed 75 people to the program on Monday and will continue with a group of 75 to 100 employees next year. To be hired for the program, candidates must live in the Chicago area as the AARC@606 program requires employees to work on a hybrid schedule. Discover’s downtown office is located at 350 N. Orleans St.

Discover also has an office in Chatham, a neighborhood on Chicago’s South Side, that serves as the company’s customer care hub. Discover plans to have more than 1,000 people work at this location by 2024 at this location, according to a statement.

“Chicago continues to attract and retain talent across industries thanks to our many amenities that help both residents and businesses thrive,” Chicago Mayor Lori E. Lightfoot, said in a statement. “This is especially true for our city’s tech industry, demonstrated by these new employees relocating to our city to join Discover in their downtown office. I’m grateful for Discover’s continued commitment to Chicago and happily welcome their newest employees to our great city.”

Discover was founded in 1986 and is headquartered in Riverwoods, a northern Chicago suburb.

Besides the newly announced job openings, Discover currently has several openings on Built In ranging from data and analytics to design, engineering, HR and recruiting, finance and internships.
