Chicago Tech Quote of the Week

“The field of cell therapy has been limited by the lack of tools to isolate and expand tumor-reactive cells that are efficacious against solid tumors. This funding enables further optimization and validation of our proprietary technology platform and expansion of our team to support our mission to deliver curative therapies for all individuals living with cancer.” — Shana Kelley, founder and CTO of CTRL Therapeutics

CTRL Therapeutics got $10M. Having recently launched, the Chicago-based biotech company is developing a cell therapy solution for solid tumors by taking circulating tumor-reactive lymphocytes from blood. According to CTRL, this next-generation solution may allow for broader patient access and allow patients to avoid expensive surgeries. The $10 million seed round was led by General Catalyst.
