Techstars Chicago just announced the 10 startups selected to participate in its latest “Never a City So Real” remote accelerator.
Over the next three months, the companies will receive funding, fellowship and advice from a network of more than 300 entrepreneurs, executives and investors, with experts coming from 4Degrees, Sprout Social and GoNanny. On February 11, the startups will present during a virtual demo day.
Although startups come from across the United States, the majority of the companies are based in the Midwest, said Neal Sales-Griffin, managing director of Techstars Chicago, in a statement.
“In my book, they’re all Chicago companies now,” Sales-Griffin added.
The participating startups span a broad set of industries, including transportation, healthcare, finance and more. Each company was chosen for its commitment to impacting the world in a positive way.
The 2020 class is listed below. Descriptions were provided by Techstars but have been edited for length and clarity:

Script Health: This Chicago-based startup’s SaaS platform allows pharmacists the ability to prescribe tests and treatments.

CAPE Inclusion: This Denver company offers a data-driven platform dedicated to helping companies achieve initiatives around diversity, equity and inclusion.

Signal Cortex: This Akron, Ohio-based company offers a smart enterprise voice assistant employees can use to organize their day.

Improovy: This Chicago company is an on-demand marketplace that connects contractors to homeowners, with the aim of becoming the “next-generation of home improvement service delivery.”

Hiki: With a name that means “able” in Hawaiian,” Hiki is a social media platform built by autistic adults, for autistic adults. The company claims to be the first-ever platform to help neurodivergent adults to find friendship, love and community.

MoneyVerbs: MoneyVerbs is a Minneapolis-based social media app where users share financial challenges, questions and accomplishments, all with the aim of achieving their financial goals.

Cinta Color: This San Francisco-based startup offers personalized hair dye intended for individuals to use at home.

Eemerg Roadside Assistance Marketplace: This St. Louis-based startup operates an online marketplace that connects customers in need of emergency roadside assistance with affordable, and fast, service providers.

Documentor: This Indianapolis-based electronic visit verification tool helps in-home care providers ensure they comply with healthcare industry standards.
